John McCain Doesn't Care About Vets

Only 1/2 truths, but that's all I would expect from the Dem smear machine here.

Have you even looked at the WHOLE bill, not just the title? The Dems love to add things to it like "scheduled time for withdrawal" and dozens of earmarks, knowing that many would turn down the bill for those very reasons.

I agree.....obviously the Obama followers on this thread don't know much about how the process works.

I don't want someone who HOPES he can do the job, I want someone who knows he can.

Glad to give you a laugh...but it's really not funny:sad2:

I think she is laughing at the absurdity of the title of the post. It is not a happy laugh but more of a I cannot believe it laugh. It is most likely the kind of laugh one gets when one listens to people who talk about oh I don't know making regular trips to some plant 9 million light years away. I guess it is a laugh mixed with complete disbelief and compassion like you might give to a senile old aunt who is delusional. At least that is my opinion of WardFamilyI's laugh. Am I right Ward?

I will respect your opinions on the subject, however, you give no creedance to the fact that Iraqi vets themselves and currently deployeds are supporting Obama 6:1...and no I didn't make that up...if vets thought McCain was the man they'd be behind him in record numbers....this just isn't so. Vets are behind the man that is looking out for their interests (which includes life after the war is over)...not who just visits the war zone....and that man is Barack Obama.

Facts don't matter much to these people, but thanks for posting.

And for the person who mentioned the timetable, your own guy dubya now has a timetable he's putting forth and it matches Obama's... so thanks for mentioning a timetable.

(that is when he isn't busy just voting 'present' )

do you have a link to a site that shows the 'present' votes? I'm scrolling through a site that shows the senate votes, and so far I'm just finding either 'yes', 'no' or 'not voting'

unless you mean his IL state senate record (129 'present' votes out of around 4000 total; or about 3.2% overall).

If McCain does not care about Veteran's or their issues why did he travel to Iraq so many times?

For the photo op.

And apparently McCain learned nothing on his jaunts because, up until a month or so ago, he keeps getting he Sunnis and Shias mixed up.

The voting record on veterans issues tells most people all they have to know about how much McCain cares about veterans.

Check what rating the Disabled Veterans of America give Senator McCain for voting on issues critical to their membership. Compare that rating to what they give Senator Obama's voting record.

Check what the Vietnam Veterans of America give Senator McCain for voting on issues critical to their membership. Check what rating they give Senator Obama.

Open your mind. McCain talks a good talk but he DOES NOT WALK THE WALK.

If you're impressed with the hyper-patriotism of the RNC please take the time to look behind the flag, confetti and balloons and actually find out the truth.

Now how could you expect the Democrates to look at the WHOLE bill, not just the title? Why would they do this? Their own candidate has a running history of doing nothing but voting PRESENT. Why delve into any bill any deeper than it's title when it's the status quo to not get involved and actually understand and participate in any bill?

a running history of doing nothing but voting PRESENT.

got a link to show a running history of 'present' votes? ('cause the 3.2% of the total IL state senate votes that I've found so far don't really qualify as a 'running history' to me, but I might have a different measuring stick).

If McCain does not care about Veteran's or their issues why did he travel to Iraq so many times? Barack Obama only traveled once when he knew he was going to win the Primaries. There is not comparison.

McCain may have voted against vets but you need to understand the reasoning behind it. I don't know his reasoning so I am not going to judge. Just like I would not rip Barack for a vote without knowing his reasoning.

The divide grows deeper....it's sad.

Alright, let me start by saying I am NOT a Vet.

I am the wife of a disabled Iraqi War Vet. I am the best friend of a girl whose non-deployable husband is currently deployed, a husband that has missed the birth of his first son. I am the daughter and granddaughter of a Vet. I am the neice of a Vietnam Vet.

I do not know a single person in this family that will be voting for McCain because of his views on Vets and this war.

There was a bill drafted by the republicans that would have given veterans better benefits. It didn't see the light of day because the democrats would not allow it to come to the floor for discussion. You got good benefits and at the same time, like private business, the benefits increased the longer you were in the service.

You have to ask yourself, why?

It would have been fair to discuss all the options then decide on which one is the best.

It was under the Clinton administration that the free medical care for life for the military dependents was taken away.
The democratic president was also responsible for the closure of many bases.
My DH is a vet, my DD is also a vet and we will be voting for McCain

Piecey, please thank your husband for me. Hug him hard and tell him I admire and appreciate his sacrifices and yours.

My husband is p&t from his service in Vietnam - Agent Orange illnesses, diabetes (see Agent Orange), lung injuries, closed head trauma and severe PTSD. He can't believe John McCain has voted MANY times against the issues he pretends to be in favor of.

Well actually it was loco4dis that laughed, I just agreed with it. And yes it is certainly a "Who do they think they are kidding with this trashy thread" laugh. ::yes::
