Has anyone used the JOhn Freida Color Glaze that is on sale at Walgreens this week. It is supposed to be applied two or three times a week. How does it work? Does it affect you next coloring by making the hair not absorb the color or is it okay?
Also I could swear I saw a conditioner that helps to maintain your color that you apply every time you shampoo. I thought it was in a silver package and by John Frieda. I could not find it in the store and I checked Brooks cvs and Walgreens. Was I halucinating or does such a thing exist? Biolage used to have one of these and it was great but they discontinued it and I was looking for another one like it.

I have just started using the color glaze and to be honest I haven't noticed a big difference. But like I said I have only use it a couple of times. The first time I did it I didn't rinse it well enough and it left my hair greasy and nasty. I'm hoping that the more I use it the more noticable it will be. I haven't been back to have it colored since I used it so I can't answer that part of your question. Sorry.

I used to use the Biolage Earth Tones, if that is what you are thinking of. Now I use the similar Aveda line. I have dark blonde/light brown (gold tones, not platinum), so I use the Aveda Chamomile. It works really nicely, smells good, and leaves my hair soft but still stylable. Let me know if you have any questions!

I used the Color Glaze and noticed no difference at all. I thought it was a waste of money. :confused3

What has worked well for me though is a Tresemme Color protectant spray that you put on right before you dry your hair. It has really kept my highlights from fading. (You have to start using it right after getting your color).

i've used it and i too did not notice a difference. it made my hair uber-greasy. so greasy that i could not use it the recommended 3 times a week.

i do use the knock-off frieda shampoo and conditioner by suave, and i like it.

Yes that is the one I used by Biolage. Where do you get the Aveda line?

I use to John Freida line for reds and also the color glaze. I have noticed a difference and it does seem that my color has lasted longer. Red typically fade and dull faster than other colors, so that may be why I notice it lasting more. I use the shampoo and conditioner made for reds as well as the gloss right before I blow dry. I have noticed a difference by using all those products. I used to use Pureology (very expensive) and I seem to get just about the same effects if not better with John Freida line. I use it about 4 times a week, but I do wash my hair daily and sometimes more than once a day on the weekends. I didn't notice a difference when getting my hair re colored as far as it absorbing more or less than last time. My hair never has been greesy from using the glaze. I have been very happy with it and I really like the price.
