John and Kate plus 8 question

i love jon and kate plus 8 and i much give them kudos and they are such amazing parents for having 8 kids and 6 of them are so young they do a great job with the day to day things that the rest of us just breeze right through. here is a random thought when the 6 graduate high school i bet that would me interesting to watch lol

I just started watching this show the other day and I was wondering if either of the parents had jobs outside the home? How do they support the kids is it with the tv show?

Before having the sextuplets, Kate was a nurse. She then became a SAHM.

Jon ... well, Jon has had several jobs, it seems. Right now he is currently unemployed.

They support their family via the TV show, paid speaking engagements, and a lucrative book deal.

Thanks. I always wonder what these people do. Does anyone know what the Duggar husband does? I watched that show too. What a difference, John and Kate act like real parents and you can see they love the kids the Duggars on the other hand act like a bunch of robots in my opinion. How can they even KNOW who is who?

The Duggars have/had real estate investments, they owned a used car business of sorts, and he was an Arkansas state representative. They also have church in their home and I have read they have some sort of tax exemption because of this. They also do TV shows for Discovery Health, which I'm sure helps to pay the bills.

According to the Duggar website, they're very frugal as well.

Last we knew for certain he went into business with Beth's husband. It has been said more recently on the show that he is self employed. don't know if that meant with Beth's husband or since then. Why are you saying he is unemployed? Thee hasn't been anything said on the show that indicated that. Besides, getting paid for speaking engagements would equal employment wouldn't it?
