I'm wondering if anyone has ever brought a jogging stroller to disney. My son is 5 and about 48 lbs. and I can't seem to find a stroller that I feel could support his weigh well. I know the joggers go up to about 50 lbs but I'm not sure how hard they are to carry on to the buses etc. Any help from anyone who has experience I'd love to hear it!

Thanks, Katie

I'm curious too! My 5 year old is much too big for an umbrella stroller and the larger Graco one was very unwieldy on a
crowded bus. I love the sit-and-stand model for 2 kids but saw a lot of unpleasant looks from fellow passengers when those
came aboard. What is out there for the older ones that folds down nicely?

Katie,
I also have the problem you are faced with. My wife and I have a 4 year old that weighs in at 48 pounds. The stroller we have decided to go with is made by Baby Jogger and supports up to 75 lbs. It features an awesome one handed fold feature and folds VERY compact, all you have to do is grab the handle and lift up and voila, it closes on its own. It isnt a cheap stroller but is one that will outlast all the other joggers on the market. It is even roomier than the regular Baby Jogger and fit our needs perfect. The stroller is called the City-Roo and we got ours from A Safer World for Children, they have a toll free number, 1-866-787-1077. One other feature on this stroller is that the front wheels swivel so it can be used anywhere without having steering problems that are normally associated with joggers. I hope this helps.

I have heard good things about the Baby Jogger CityJogger model (this is the one with the 2 swiveling front wheels)-the Joggeroo has a single non-swiveling larger front wheel. My next door neighbor owns this one for her child and likes it but it is pricey-she paid about $275 or so shipped.

The folded dimensions are: 47" long, 19.5" W and 12" H & weighs about 15 lbs.

HTH!

Personally I have decided to go with a lightweight & more inexpensive Combi Sub-V for my 4 yo DS, unfortunately the weight limit for these is listed at 45 lbs.

Karen, you are right about the City Jogger and the Jogger Roo but the stroller I was speaking of is a combination of both and is called the City-Roo. It is brand new and is not even on the website yet. The deminsions of this stroller is 31" length, 25.5" wide, and 9.5" height. Smaller than most regular strollers and supports up to 75 lbs. Cost is $387 but we couldnt have asked for a stroller to be more perfect for our needs. And hey, we are going to be at Disney the same time as you !!!!! Hope to see ya there!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Once my dd's got over 3 it made more sense for us to rent at the parks. They did fine walking at the resorts and to/from the bus so we only needed it for the parks. The new strollers are larger jogging types, in fact the ones at MGM are exactly like the one shown in the link to the joggers in question!

Granted its $7 per day but for a 5yo that (IMHO) beats 275 for a stroller that won't be used unless you have younger children. I disliked lugging the stroller on and off the bus and mine was a compact, I can't imagine trying to board with children and a big stroller - again just me!

The wdwig.com site has lots of info on the park strollers including up to date picts of all the strollers available at each park.
Have fun!

Kevin-GULP! Wow-that is pretty steep, but I guess it seemed to be a good investment for your family :) Yes, I will be there in Sept from the 21-29th, with my cheapie Combi! If I see I'll have to check out that stroller!

I have heard of the one you purchased, they had a ad for it in a local runner's mag....I was just clarifying the difference between the 2 I saw on that website for the OP, as I was confused when I looked at it-lol! Sounds like the folded dimensions on yours are much smaller than most of their others.

Also, I have found a great board for stroller info, these stroller ladies know their stuff!
Here's the link to the parentsplace stroller board:

They really helped me to decide on mine!
