hi: we will be staying at okw in october (along with the cross-country team from the h.s.). we are familiar with the different jogging/running routes around bwv but not at okw. can anyone help? thanks.

My DW and I tried to go jogging on our recent visit and the paths were confusing. We ended up on a golf course and ended up jogging on cart paths to get back to the resort. Recommend calling the resort to ask about jogging paths. However, the route we did take was beautiful and we maintained (the part not on the golf course.)

Good luck!

During our stay in July, this is the route we (and quite a few others) took each morning:

Although we were in building 27, we walked back to the bridge across from the Hospitality House and began there.

Head back toward building 27 along Peninsular Road.

Stay on Peninsular Road until it ends. You will be looking at a bus stop between buildings 53(on you left) and 52(on your right).

Make a left and pass buildings 53, 54, 55, and 56. At the end of the parkin lot, make a left.

Stay off of the cart golf path. You should now be running parallel to the water way. This will take you into DTD/West Side. Keep the water on your left. You'll pass Cirque Du Soleil, House of Blues, Wolfgang Puck's, and Bongos all on your right. Go until you can go no further. Turn anround and retrace your path.

My son beleives its about 2 miles one way.

Hope that helps.

Caskbill has prepared a great report (with photos and exact mileage for several resorts, including OKW.

Here is his <a href="http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39529">OKW Pathways</a> report.

Any of the sidewalk areas are good for walking/jogging, but you will need to stay off the golf course and cart paths (they do enforce this) as it can be dangerous with golfers and maintenance vehicles on the course.

We have walked/jogged the OKW-DD path many times and you will now be able to add some extra distance by exploring the SR resort area at the same time. (Once the construction areas have been opened back up.)

Enjoy!

the resort itself has lots of sidewalks that are great for that morning run - you will see lots of other walkers/joggers - remember the paths don't have lights - the resort does - so if you like an early morning jog (before the sun rises) then the resort is the only choice.
