Jody's moving to The Beach 03/15/04!

Dear Jody ~ I feel your pain :(

I have been following your diet thread and you are such an inspiration!

I am so sorry to hear about your health problems and that they have gone on for so long. I have been down the road w/fibriods and after 2 opinions had the hysterectomy ~ thankfully w/o any complications. I felt like a new person afterwards. Something like this is always so scary, but please think positive and keep the faith ^i^, you are not alone. I pray you can put the cancer idea out of your mind until you know what you are dealing with. You will cross that bridge when and if you have too. Your doctors know what is best and will do everything possible to make you well again. The worst part will be the waiting, but we are here for you any time you feel the need to talk.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Take care, please try to keep us informed and let us know if there is anything we can do.

Best wishes,
God Bless ^i^
Sandie

I spoke to my gyno today. I am going to schedule the surgery. She said that I do not need to see the oncologist at this time. HOPEFULLY I won't EVER need to see him! [he will be called in during the surgery if necessary]. She said that it could be up to a month until they can schedule the surgery -- with pending insurance approval time. It will be a long but busy month.

I am not going to be journalling as usual for awhile. I just do not have to time to keep up with it. I will NOT stray from my eating plan though --- and will check in every once in awhile with my weigh ins! I'll be back to regular journalling after my surgery.:D

I received a surgery date today of Friday July 18th -- in the afternoon. I've asked my mother to register and post a surgery update on the boards - after my surgery [if she can figure out how to do it]. If she doesn't post -- she will ask Vija to post for her [she'll be calling Vija for me]. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated. THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of the prayers, cards and pixie dust that I've received!;)

We will keep your journal warm for you until you are ready to come back! continued prayers my friend.....

Weigh In 211

This is my 'time of the month' week. I guess it will be the LAST one --- as I'll be getting my hysterectomy on 7/18th. I am keeping my ovaries so I will ovulate but not 'bleed'. I guess I'll still go thru the 'time of month' water retention cycle then too, right? Can anyone recommend a good book to help me better understand all this?

We were at the shore for the holiday weekend. For the most part I did really well. I had decided ahead of the time that holiday weekends would be 'allowable cheat' weekends for me. I had a couple Captain Morgan/diet cokes. On the 4th I had a slice of shoo fly pie and ice cream. On sunday I had a slice of pizza - crust and all. And sunday evening I had a cheeseburger with the bun. I am up 2 pounds but I know it is a combination of TOM retention and also my 'off eating' this weekend.

Hi Jody,

Just to let you know I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all goes well on Friday. Keep the faith ^i^
and think of that big RC cruise ahead of you!! I will email you.

I am getting last minute preparations done for my trip to the Castle [hospital] for my surgery today. I am still a LIW [Lady in Waiting] but will be a true 'Princess' when I return home to my 'Palace'.

I'm not cracking folks --- this is the lingo on the Hyster Sisters [Hysterectomy] message boards that I have been checking out!

Well ---- It's been OVER 2 MONTHS {May 14th} since I was able to trade up a clippie. I have been on program but it has been a true struggle for me --- My body just was NOT cooperating. I woke up this morning and jumped on the scale first thing and was pleasantly surprised that the one pound that I've been holding on to 'forever' has finally shed its way ----

I've earned my 15 Pound Clippie!!!:D

And that was BEFORE have body parts surgically removed! ;)

This sure gave me a wonderful feeling on an otherwise gloomy day! I couldn't wait to share it with my WISH Friends. Now I am at a total of 40 POUNDS lost since starting this low carb way of eating with 15 of those pounds lost since the WISH challenge began!

I Promise to be back posting faithfully on my journal as soon as I am home from the 'Castle' and feeling up to it!:D

Thanks to all that have given me support during my surgery and recuperation --- it was appreciated so much. I am having trouble getting back on the low carb track though. I had gained 6 pounds from the IV/liquids during my hospital stay. As of 7/29 I had lost what I put on from surgery even though I had been eating high carb foods. NOT a good thing to get me back on track. We went to the shore for rest and relaxation [and too much eating] and I GAINED back 5 pounds during the week. UGH.

But I'm back now folks and gearing up to get committed to this way of eating that I KNOW works for ME! So watch for my daily journaling starting friday 8/8. I think I'll start the star challenge also to keep me on track.
:D

Hi Jody ~

So glad all went well w/your surgery and you are feeling better.
Hang in there ~
it takes awhile to get back on track once you become a Hyster sister...LOL.
Take care and keep up the good work.

Weigh In - 219

Well, I'm back where I need to be! But 12 pounds too late.:(

I've given up my clippies and will earn them again as I reach those milestones. I had started wish way back in the beginning at 222 --- so I'll re-earn my 5 pound clippie when I reach 217. Until then -- I am back to a 'newbie' wish member clippie. I am also starting the cheat free star challenge today. Onward and Downward I'll go.....

10:00am - slice of cheese and bologna

5:30pm - Cheeseburger [no roll] with tomatoe, onion, mayo and SF sweet relish [sweetened with splenda].

8:00pm - Diet Cream Soda with splash of heavy cream

I was expecting to be 'up' a bit today. Whenever I have the stromboli OR the chicken salad plate in a day I seem to retain water --- and wouldn't you know it --- I had both in ONE day! UGH!

11:00am - Chicken Cheesesteak [no roll]

1:30pm - Mock Stuffed Peppers I put crumbled raw burger, sliced peppers, diced onions, tomatoe puree, with splenda in the crockpot - tasted wonderful!
Cauliflower with butter and crazy salt

I'll probably have the same thing later for supper. I was not satisfied today after I had the CCS so I ate a bit of my supper a little early.

5:30pm - Beef Roast
Cauliflower with Butter & Crazy Salt

8:00pm - Diet Cream Soda w/splash of heavy cream
