I kept re-watching the verdict, over and over. I noticed Jodi always looking at certain juror. I noticed it during the trial too. I wondered if she connected with this juror.

I get that it would be bad even with life in prison as the video spells out, but what if she gets a chance at parole?

Plus, as bad as the life in prison sentence is if she were on Death Row she would have no chance at parole and would would be living until her execution in even worse conditions.

Not to mention that this is supposed to be about Justice for Travis and his Family and they see the death penalty as their justice, I don't think they will feel like they have achieved Justice for him unless JA gets death.

This is the one thing I think many people fail to realize, it is not about if you as an outside observer are in favor of the DP or not. It's about the fact that Arizona has the DP in it's law and that the victim's family here feels that is the only way to have justice on the murderer of their brother.

IMO their opinion should be the only one that matters now that we are at this phase of the trial where Jodi has clearly been found guilty of this murder in the first degree.

Nope, look at the video I posted above. I think she will be more shocked than ever.

I saw it. However right now she isnt sweating what prison can bring. I am sure she cannot fathom that. And when she gets there whether for death row or life, her BPD and mix of sociopath will not let her go oh this is going to suck.she will not stop trying to manipulated even if it is a guard giving her food.

We see the video and we are rational people without a personality disorder or sociopathic tendencies so we can see how it would be.

My mom has Narcissistic Personality disorder. Some of JA's behavior are very similar to my mom.

I do believe in the DP. But we certainly don't have control over what the jury decides to do. Even if it is left up to the judge , prison life is not going to be any fun. Jodi will not get to do the things she says she will do. My heart goes out to the family. All we can do is wait and see what comes next.

That is assuming the judge does not give her 25 to life and with time served she is out in 20 years if she gets paroled. I know right now we all think "Oh there is no way that the judge would give her a chance at parole", but then again nobody saw this Jury being a hung one 2 days ago either and look where we sit.

Like I said I want justice for Travis and his Family, and they won't think they have achieved Justice unless Jodi gets the DP. That is why I hope this next jury really does have the backbone to give that verdict.

It's gonna be a long two month wait and see at best and with how many times this trial has been pushed back before (years of push backs), I think it will be an even longer wait, and who knows how long it will be dragged out with this next jury.

Well we don't know the split, there were 8 men and 4 women and yes the split was 8 Death to 4 Life, but we don't know if it was all the women that wanted Life over Death or if it was a mix.

Yes. That video you posted, that is going to kill Jodi. There will be no audience. Except the one in her head. She won't be able to manipulate anyone but those in her head. That's torture for someone like Jodi.

Seriously though, don't let it bother you. It's annoying but its how some people feel good about themselves. Sometimes people act out because of bad things that had happened in their life or things that are currently happening to them now, or just plain old low self esteem.

I was really hoping not to see that on this board because the majority of members are grown ups, so I guess I will just need to stick to the actual WDW topics for now where people seem a little more mature.

I thought she was looking in a particular direction of the jury too. All they needed was one person to vote against death so that could have been their plan. I think everything they said and did was calculated.

I think I knew that the jury was leaning on the "older" side, but I was still surprised when I saw the video. I'd love to know the split...age AND gender, and where they sat...if where Jodi seemed to stare worked.

The bolded...so true. So sorry about your mom...that you had to live like that, and that she's dying.

I think Jodi still has it in her head, that somehow, she's going to get out of this. She foresees an appeal, and a whole other trial, and will be studying what went wrong with this one and fix it for next time. Hopefully she won't get anywhere with it, but she'll sure as hell try.

If she gets Life (haven't watched that video yet) I heard on HLN that she'll get a couple of hours or so a week with 3 or so other inmates outside? Actually, I like that. Maybe they won't like her. At all. Maybe they will be the ones she can't manipulate.

The Jury Forman was on GMA this morning. He indicated that the jury was "stuck" before they even went in for deliberation. I take this that those that were against the DP has expressed this in the first phase.

Second, he personally felt that Jodi was emotionally and verbally abused by Travis. Obviously, he took a sip of that kool aid.

Lastly, he stated that Jodi's 18 days on the stand went against her. He felt she was contradicting herself at times.

I saw that interview and it made me realize that some people still feel sorry for her. Her manipulation still wins out.

No way Judge Stephens will give JA a chance of parole. If you looked at Judge Stephens demeanor during the penalty stage, you could see that her patience was running thin. Plus, she probably realizes that JA is a dangerous individual from the crime scene photos and the condition of Mr. Alexander's body. JA is going to die in prison whether she gets LWOP or a death sentence.

Any clue which number was the foreman? I can see how people may be able to believe that Jodi was emotionally and verbally abused by Travis because of the texts. However, I do believe that the entire context wasn't taken into consideration and also that Jodi liked it. Or liked it as long as she was getting what she wanted out of the relationship. It seems to me that the entire time, everything was mutual. On the stand she made it sound like Travis raped her and used her and did things against her will...but then it came out that she really seemed to enjoy all of that. When all was said and done, if she truely felt abused, she did NOT have to travel thousands of miles to come see him, he certainly wasn't coming after her.

Quick update: got home this afternoon. Charlotte is adjusting well so far. She loves to eat and doesn't like to be put down. Family is here now, and as soon as I get a chance i will update with pics. Heard about today, well at least there will be a fresh set of ears.

HLN AfterDark just announced the jury verdict count ... 8 for death ... 4 for life...

Thanks for posting. 8 to 4 is a hard split and they were right to notify the court that they were a hung jury. No need to let it drag on when they know they are split. It's better to select a new jury.
