Did anyone else notice that during some of the sidebars yesterday, Jodi kept turning around and looking at someone directly behind her (in the same vicinity as Donavon)?
I think it was Jinga who said she was looking towards her grandmother.
Altho I sympathize with Jodi's family and the position they're in, I hope the jury...if it comes down to 1st degree and a penalty phase...don't get caught up in granny's pleas of leniency (not sure of the whole process and if Jodi's family can speak on her behalf). And as much as I understand that she IS Jodi's grandmother, just based on how manipulative Jodi and the DT is, I sort of resent them bringing wheelchair bound grandma into the courtroom to park in the front row, looking all distraught, esp as the trial winds down. And I get that I sound insensitive. Maybe I've just had it with all the other ******** we've been subjected to. She IS Jodi's grandmother, surely she loves Jodi

), and she's not in good health so would have had to travel from CA, and all that. Just feels like the DT said "time to bring the poor ol' grandma in."
At this point, I'm not so sure how anything Jodi's parents would have to say would come off. She didn't paint them in a good light, her mother has sat there either stone faced or laughing (not at testimony, but still), but the interrogation tapes do show an entirely different, distraught side to her. Would they get up there and say yes, they abused her? Or spin the part about how they feared she was bipolar?
I was just thinking what a frenzy it's going to be with the press grabbing those interviews with the jurors, family members and who ever else wants to jump into line for days and days of "exclusives."
And supposedly there's a Ghost Hunters show that's going to attempt to talk to Travis.
I think in FL the CA jury was given press packets with contact information if they wanted to talk; the press, or even the lawyers I think, couldn't contact them. It will be interesting to see who talks.
Surprised Jodi didn't try to get the Ghost Hunters to talk to Travis during the trial and testify for him...after all, she said in one of her interrogations "If Travis was here, he'd tell you I didn't do it."
It may have had something to do with Tanisha posting on her FB for supporters to attack Laviolette, although I'm not clear as to why the court would think they have any jurisdiction to control that nor would barring her from chambers' hearings be an appropriate remedy for that.
I agree.
Exactly! If they can't stop JA from Tweeting, How can they punish Tanisha, who is not on trail for anything.
Because defendants have all the rights.
Doesn't California have a law that prevents jurors from talking to the media for 90 days after a trial? ... I wonder if Arizona has a similar law? ...
Probably not because Juror #5 was allowed to speak to the media if she chose to after she was dismissed ... And btw, did the juror who was dismissed for being sick a couple of weeks ago every speak to the media? ... I actually forgot about him and didn't hear if he granted any interviews ...
Interesting. Yes, CA does, as far as I know, but what case did that come out of...was it the OJ case? AZ may not do that (if they haven't already) until they have their own issue to remedy. If they do have that law, maybe since Juror #5 didn't actually deliberate and take part in a verdict it would exclude her.
