Jodi Arias Trial Part 6, starting with JM Rebuttal April 16

Doesn't California have a law that prevents jurors from talking to the media for 90 days after a trial? ... I wonder if Arizona has a similar law? ...

Probably not because Juror #5 was allowed to speak to the media if she chose to after she was dismissed ... And btw, did the juror who was dismissed for being sick a couple of weeks ago every speak to the media? ... I actually forgot about him and didn't hear if he granted any interviews ...

I don't know, but I would think any juror who says No Comment would then be respected to be left alone. I sure hope so.

Good morning everyone! I need my coffee as well. Pass the pot please. You know Jodi would stop all the garbage if people would quit making a buzz about her. I am sick of the TH putting up pictures of Travis and Jodi together. They need to focus on Travis , the real victim. Once Jodi is no longer the talk of the spot light she will stop. That would really make her mad. You know if you have a facebook and visit the site and your chat is on they know people are looking. So if you go there just turn your chat off.

Oh, how I wish I could turn the chat off, I'm in thru my wife's FB (she has 2, one for us and one for her blog) and all these foodies leave her messages all day long. :faint:

Good morning all!

Question for you "legal eagles" here. If Det. Flores was allowed to go back to the scene of the crime in March of this year to take pictures of the closet, why couldn't he make a video of someone trying to reach up to the top shelf? He could get someone who is within an inch or two and five pounds of Jodi and have them stand on the bottom shelf and reach up to the top. Wouldn't that prove without a doubt how unsturdy those shelves are?!

So glad there is an end in sight to this trial. The Alexander family needs this to be over and try to put their lives back together.

Gotta comment that Jodi's Grandma looked heartbroken. Like she knows she's guilty as hell, but can't believe her own flesh and blood did it.

Who knows exactly where Jodi supposedly put her foot? If she put it close to the corner where the pin is located, it might actually hold her for a second or two. That's not gonna fly for the State.

Good Thursday morning, everyone!!! :wave2:

You had asked about the "heat of passion/manslaughter" issue. That's just one of the charges to determine guilt or not guilty. Do you mean the surrebuttal? Not sure if that's been granted or not. They were kind of debating it on HLN...is there time next Wednesday when the trial is going to go on until they're done, or if it just wasn't granted. :confused3 Haven't watched all the night time HLN shows, so I'm not sure if they've cleared that up yet.

Sorry, yes, Mare, I meant the 'surrebuttal'!

Aw, thanks. :) They were a long time ago. First one was tough...first pregnancy, 13 weeks, night in the hospital...devastating (still remember the date). We got our first puppy instead so I could be a mommy right away. :teeth: Second pregnancy was my first DD, now 24! Then the 2nd miscarriage, 7 weeks, no medical intervention needed. Next was DD, now 22. Then DS, 20, altho I was sure I was having another miscarriage. So I consider myself extremely blessed!

:hug::hug::hug:

Watching JVM...no one seems to be sure if there is a surrebuttal. It could be that it's just very short...one witness? :confused3 Might have more info tomorrow.

:thumbsup2

OMG! The stories she is telling Mike Walker.....GEES. She is a nut.
She is something else. She said Travis was so upset she was pregnant it nearly killed her.... Too bad it didn't honey.
The Psycho movie, that was her obsession. But how I wish if that is in writing about them taking the knife into the shower and getting "carried away" with it.
JM could bring it in now for the jury.

Story #4 could get her the needle really fast!!!

So is it true that JA was pregnant with Travis' baby? :confused3

It may have had something to do with Tanisha posting on her FB for supporters to attack Laviolette, although I'm not clear as to why the court would think they have any jurisdiction to control that nor would barring her from chambers' hearings be an appropriate remedy for that.

Oh wow, so Tanisha took to her FB page and was bashing ALV. Not good. Not appropriate. Did anyone HERE actually see Tanisha's post?

Just checked and this is on CNN if anyone wants to watch, it's really quite impressive.

No one will be paying attention to her any more. All the media will go away. No giving interviews either. It will be more real once the verdict comes down.
I don't think Jodi or the media attention surrounding her will go away anytime soon, altho it certainly won't be the Daily Jodi Show. Jodi loves the attention, and she will continue to do everything in her power to stay in the spotlight. And these days, the media just eats up everything that's handed to them.

I was thinking about you this morning! Watched some of the Today Show about it. Ironically, I've only been to one Presidential Library, and it was LBJ's in Austin. Have never been to JFK's in MA, and I'm only about 50 miles away.

OHMYGOSH...... Mare You are making perfect sense with the grandmother. I wouldn't put anything past this DT, slime balls.

I think as far as the closet issues. Didn't the DT put in a motion with regard to the closet something with weight and such??

This was probably the only way they could get the information in. I BET JM WANTED TO DO A "RE-ENACTMENT" as was told no.

Good morning everyone! :sunny: I got up this morning and remembered what the judge said, that next Wednesday we're gonna go until this thing is finished. I'm so glad. It has drug on long enough. Travis' family looks worn out and exhausted. JA knows the BS ain't flying anymore.

I sure will miss talking to all of you regularly once this is actually over, though! :grouphug:

I had to go back and look it up, too many googles in a day. LOL It's called Swimming Pool.

It does sound good, doesn't it? :beach:

Good morning UR and everyone.

I have a majority of the ingredients to try and make it. Only thing I need to figure out is how they got the red on the bottom. Some grenadine might help with that. I'll try this weekend and see how it comes out. If I remember, I'll take a pic and post it.

All we have is Jodi's word, so I would say that's a resounding "NO!"

No Way!!! If she were she would have said it on the stand. Because she said Travis was upset she was preggers, she would have said he beat her for jury sympathy.

That story didn't come to her till after is my guess.

Oh wow, so Tanisha took to her FB page and was bashing ALV. Not good. Not appropriate. Did anyone HERE actually see Tanisha's post?

Yeah, I saw it, I was kinda surprised she posted anything like that, but then again, I certainly can understand doing it, there just comes a point where you can't take anymore. But no, wasn't very smart of her.

I haven't been to LBJ's and I'm only an hour and a half away. :rotfl:

Yes, I saw the Today Show too, it was really cool.

And I couldn't agree more on the Jodi/media hype, the media is gonna be all over this case until Trayvon, then it'll be all about that. I'll be busy mowing and going to Disney.

Do you feel like I do------- That Jodes will try to get another sick day out of it first??
She doesn't want the end to come.

Lord, keep me out of the liquor store, I go along all those fruity flavors and go nuts. And I'll drink anything with coconut in it! :lmao:

Mike, let us know how it is, it sounds absolutely heavenly to me.

Kar, the body found in Providence has been confirmed as the missing Brown University student. Such a sad story. He had "mood" issues, so maybe suicide? So so sad.

http://www.turnto10.com/story/22073580/missing-brown-students-siblings#.UXk6L2GlfDA.facebook

Ooooooooh, no. :sad1:

I watched his Sister and Bro on Piers Morgan last night. They are the sweetest and loveliest kids ever. And they did struggle this week with the whole 'bomber' crap where the Media said it was 'Sunny'. They said Sunny was struggling with depression. Very very sad. They are going to be just so so so heartbroken that their brother is gone. :sad2:

I am thinking it will come out that is was suicide, Mare. :sad2:

UR you can always make a fake one, and use it for nothing but things like this. That way you can be left alone on it and turn the chat on and off. I did! I turned my original off. Bet those few people can't figure out why. :lmao:

You know Mare, sometimes they tell family members how to play things up as well to gain sympathy. I think it is pathetic. You know it was the defense who had her come. She has never been once through the whole thing.

Oh my goodness did not know that Tanisha trashed AL on her facebook. I can understand how she is full of anger and pain. But I hope she is careful as anyone could be checking people's FB accounts. That could be a huge thing for the prosecution.

The defense probably found a case that would support them so they could not do a video. It would have been nice.

UR, I love coconut too!!!!
Pass the drinks down here too..........

She doesn't want the end to come.

Yes, I was thinking that yesterday, that she'll get sick or something on Wednesday and then they'll have to postpone. What will she do once the constant attention goes away and she's no longer the lead story? I shudder to think about it. :scared:

Hope they pack a dinner for her. Did the judge forget? Or is this her way of telling Nurmi , I don't care what you want for your client. Like the way she handled AL on her last day on the stand?:rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Yup.
This poor family. I guess Tanisha was at her wit's end and just let it happen. I am still praying for them. Tanisha made a mistake. They are all physically and emotionally spent. :sad1:

I think it was Jinga who said she was looking towards her grandmother.

Altho I sympathize with Jodi's family and the position they're in, I hope the jury...if it comes down to 1st degree and a penalty phase...don't get caught up in granny's pleas of leniency (not sure of the whole process and if Jodi's family can speak on her behalf). And as much as I understand that she IS Jodi's grandmother, just based on how manipulative Jodi and the DT is, I sort of resent them bringing wheelchair bound grandma into the courtroom to park in the front row, looking all distraught, esp as the trial winds down. And I get that I sound insensitive. Maybe I've just had it with all the other ******** we've been subjected to. She IS Jodi's grandmother, surely she loves Jodi (:confused3 ;)), and she's not in good health so would have had to travel from CA, and all that. Just feels like the DT said "time to bring the poor ol' grandma in."

At this point, I'm not so sure how anything Jodi's parents would have to say would come off. She didn't paint them in a good light, her mother has sat there either stone faced or laughing (not at testimony, but still), but the interrogation tapes do show an entirely different, distraught side to her. Would they get up there and say yes, they abused her? Or spin the part about how they feared she was bipolar? :confused3

I'm going to sound very insensitive, but IMO and to be honest, I really don't have any sympathy for JA's family ... I think they are purposely playing the "grandma card" now and that makes me  ... and I can't stand the way they all wear the blue ribbons meant to honor and support TA ... I feel they are just mocking the Alexander family by wearing them :sad2: ... Because how can they show support for the man who allegedly abused their daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, etc., and who was said to be a "pedophile" and "perpetrator of domestic violence", while showing support for JA at the same time  ... I just don't get it :confused3 ... It just seems phony and hypocritical to me and just a ploy for the jury to see :sad2:
