I'm with you. Jodi is insufferable. What makes me the most irritated is that the judge doesn't stop her. Jodi is catered to on so many levels. Quite frankly, with the time it takes the judge to make a decision on the "objections" of Nurmi, I'm partially inclined to think she's zoning out from time to time. Jodi better get a hefty sentence, if for no other reason than her snarky demeanor!

I think two things. One, the Judge is doing everything possible to prevent a mistrial. Allowing Jodi certain behaviors so she cannot say she wasn't allowed to testify correctly. Second, I think the Judge knows she is a guilty sociopath and is enjoying seeing Jodi prove it to the jury.

What was the smack? I must have missed that :(

Me too!

Does anyone also find her saying "Umm" before she answers a question highly annoying? It just makes me want to scream. I have NO idea how the jury can sit there and listen to her all day. Luckily for me, I can be actively engaged in housework while I listen to the trial. What a disgusting woman.

Yes, it bugs me too. She is "thinking" about her answer when she does that. It drives me nuts too.
It has been very interesting to watch a psychopath in action...

Anyone else wonder how she could have picked him up and got him in the shower?

Anyone that could stab someone that many times, slit someone's neck from ear to ear, and shoot them would probably be in a full blown rage and have a ton of adrenaline.

I think usnuz is referring to when the Judge told Jodi she had to let JM finish what he was saying and not speak over him. She said it makes it hard for the court reporter to get what everyone is saying.

Testimony today will be more lie, deny, and I don't remember, I'm sure. And the things she does remember won't be because she actually remembers them, it will be because someone else told her that's the way it happened.

This excerpt from The Jodi Arias Trial facebook page made me laugh (long but worth it):

A day in the life of Cross-Examining Jodi Arias

Prosecutor: So, you were lying down, that afternoon, sleeping on the sofa when he walked in and woke you saying "Good Morning" and then kissed you on the cheek.

Arias: Who walked in?

Prosecutor: Travis

Arias: Well, I thought it may have been Travis, I didn't know.

Prosecutor: You didn't know it was Travis that walked in?

Arias: Not at first, no.

Prosecutor: Who did you think it was?

Arias: I THOUGHT it was Travis.

Prosecutor: Well, if you say it was Travis why do you say you didn't know it was Travis?

Arias: I didn't "know" it was Travis. I only THOUGHT it was Travis.

Prosecutor: What made you doubt he might BE Travis.

Arias: My eyes were closed at the time. I only heard a voice.

Prosecutor: But you know the sound of Travis' voice don't you?

Arias: Somewhat.

Prosecutor: Well, you recognize his voice don't you?

Arias: Sometimes

Prosecutor: What do you mean sometimes?

Arias: Well, when he calls, he doesn't always sound like himself.

Prosecutor: But reguardless, when you opened your eyes you knew it to be Travis.

Arias: Yes, when I opened my eyes I knew it was Travis.

Prosecutor: When you opened your eyes in response to his voice...

Arias: I didn't open my eyes in response to his voice.

Prosecutor: He didn't wake you?

Arias: No

Prosecutor: If he didn't wake you, what DID wake you?

Arias: Sounds

Prosecutor: What sounds?

Arias: Sounds of something

Prosecutor: What kinds of sounds... what did it SOUND like?

Arias: Well, I couldn't be sure.

Prosecutor: Ma'am, your best guess, what did it sound like?

Arias: Someone walking in the room.

Prosecutor: So, when the sound of him walking in the room woke you, he then
said, 'Good Morning' and kissed you on the cheek.

Arias: He didn't wake me.

Prosecutor: No, HE didn't but the sound of him walking in the room woke you.

Arias: No, that didn't wake me.

Prosecutor: I thought you said the sound woke you.

Arias: No, YOU said it WOKE me. I wasn't asleep.

Prosecutor: You weren't asleep?

Arias: No

Prosecutor: You were napping, were you not?

Arias: No, I was not napping

Prosecutor: Well, what were you doing when he came in then?

Arias: I was more& well& like& resting& but not asleep or napping. I was very aware of my surroundings at the time.

Prosecutor: Okay& so you were resting that afternoon, on the sofa, when the sound of someone walking in, disturbed you from your rest.

Arias: I wouldnt say disturbed.

Prosecutor: rattled you?

Arias: I wouldnt say rattled

Prosecutor: Well, what word WOULD you use?

Arias: I dont know, it kind of hard to describe.

Prosecutor: Well, give us your best guess.

Arias: I would say startled.

Prosecutor: Okay, you were startled by Travis entering the room as you were resting on the sofa&

Arias: It wasnt a sofa.

Prosecutor: Well, where WERE you?

Arias: I believe I was resting on the LoveSac.

Prosecutor: Okay you were resting on the LoveSac that afternoon, when the sound of Travis entering the room startled you&

Arias: It wasnt in the afternoon.

Prosecutor: The morning then?

Arias: No

Prosecutor: What time would YOU say it was.

Arias: I didnt KNOW what time of the day it was.

Prosecutor: Maam, you just said you knew it wasnt in the afternoon, so you must
KNOW what time it was.

Arias: Well, I didnt know what time it was, I only knew it wasnt the afternoon.

Prosecutor: Well, what time WAS it then?

Arias: I dont KNOW the exact time.

Prosecutor: Was it the evening, then?

Arias: No

Prosecutor: Well, if it wasnt the morning, afternoon or the evening& when could it have
been?

Arias: I would define it as dusk& not quite afternoon and not quite evening& later in the day.

Prosecutor: Okay& dusk.

Arias: Later in the day.

Prosecutor: Later in the day.

Arias: Around sundown, but not quite.

Prosecutor: Lets just say that Travis came in while you were resting on the LoveSac and kissed you on the cheek and said Good Morning.

Arias: He didnt kiss me on the cheek, it was on the lips.

Prosecutor: So, he kissed you on the lips.

Arias: I wouldnt say kissed either& it was more of a peck.

Prosecutor: So, Travis came in while you were resting on the LoveSac and gave you a
peck on the cheek and said Good Morning.

Arias: I dont believe he said, Good Morning

Prosecutor: Hello?

Arias: Not, Hello& I believe it was Hi, Beautiful

Prosecutor: So, you when you sat up.

Arias: I was already up.

Prosecutor: You werent resting?

Arias: I was resting

Prosecutor: You were resting& so when you were no longer resting you had to sit up, right?

Arias: No

Prosecutor: Is your head on straight today?

Arias: Yes

Prosecutor: Are you having trouble understanding what I am asking?

Arias: Sometimes, yes& sometimes, no.

Prosecutor: So if you were resting you eventually had to sit up, right.

Arias: No, I was in the LoveSac& I wasnt lying down. I was sort of reclining, I was more like sitting while I was resting, but not lying down or reclining.

Prosecutor: (Sigh) Your Honor& I wish to state, for the record that, we would like to change our position and agree to stipulate Travis, regularly (and with great fervor) beat the livin' tar out of her.
That's hilarious! But for a spoof it's not at all far from the truth!
Traits of a Sociopath

1. GLIB and SUPERFICIAL CHARM -- the tendency to be smooth, engaging, charming, slick, and verbally facile. Sociopathic charm is not in the least shy, self-conscious, or afraid to say anything. A sociopath never gets tongue-tied. They have freed themselves from the social conventions about taking turns in talking, for example.

2. GRANDIOSE SELF-WORTH -- a grossly inflated view of one's abilities and self-worth, self-assured, opinionated, cocky, a braggart. Sociopaths are arrogant people who believe they are superior human beings.

3. NEED FOR STIMULATION or PRONENESS TO BOREDOM -- an excessive need for novel, thrilling, and exciting stimulation; taking chances and doing things that are risky. Sociopaths often have low self-discipline in carrying tasks through to completion because they get bored easily. They fail to work at the same job for any length of time, for example, or to finish tasks that they consider dull or routine.

4. PATHOLOGICAL LYING -- can be moderate or high; in moderate form, they will be shrewd, crafty, cunning, sly, and clever; in extreme form, they will be deceptive, deceitful, underhanded, unscrupulous, manipulative, and dishonest.

5. CONNING AND MANIPULATIVENESS- the use of deceit and deception to cheat, con, or defraud others for personal gain; distinguished from Item #4 in the degree to which exploitation and callous ruthlessness is present, as reflected in a lack of concern for the feelings and suffering of one's victims.

6. LACK OF REMORSE OR GUILT -- a lack of feelings or concern for the losses, pain, and suffering of victims; a tendency to be unconcerned, dispassionate, coldhearted, and un empathic. This item is usually demonstrated by a disdain for one's victims.

7. SHALLOW AFFECT -- emotional poverty or a limited range or depth of feelings; interpersonal coldness in spite of signs of open gregariousness.

8. CALLOUSNESS and LACK OF EMPATHY -- a lack of feelings toward people in general; cold, contemptuous, inconsiderate, and tactless.

9. PARASITIC LIFESTYLE -- an intentional, manipulative, selfish, and exploitative financial dependence on others as reflected in a lack of motivation, low self-discipline, and inability to begin or complete responsibilities.

10. POOR BEHAVIORAL CONTROLS -- expressions of irritability, annoyance, impatience, threats, aggression, and verbal abuse; inadequate control of anger and temper; acting hastily.

11. PROMISCUOUS SEXUAL BEHAVIOR -- a variety of brief, superficial relations, numerous affairs, and an indiscriminate selection of sexual partners; the maintenance of several relationships at the same time; a history of attempts to sexually coerce others into sexual activity or taking great pride at discussing sexual exploits or conquests.

12. EARLY BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS -- a variety of behaviors prior to age 13, including lying, theft, cheating, vandalism, bullying, sexual activity, fire-setting, glue-sniffing, alcohol use, and running away from home.

13. LACK OF REALISTIC, LONG-TERM GOALS -- an inability or persistent failure to develop and execute long-term plans and goals; a nomadic existence, aimless, lacking direction in life.

14. IMPULSIVITY -- the occurrence of behaviors that are unpremeditated and lack reflection or planning; inability to resist temptation, frustrations, and urges; a lack of deliberation without considering the consequences; foolhardy, rash, unpredictable, erratic, and reckless.

15. IRRESPONSIBILITY -- repeated failure to fulfill or honor obligations and commitments; such as not paying bills, defaulting on loans, performing sloppy work, being absent or late to work, failing to honor contractual agreements.

16. FAILURE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR OWN ACTIONS -- a failure to accept responsibility for one's actions reflected in low conscientiousness, an absence of dutifulness, antagonistic manipulation, denial of responsibility, and an effort to manipulate others through this denial.

17. MANY SHORT-TERM MARITAL RELATIONSHIPS -- a lack of commitment to a long-term relationship reflected in inconsistent, undependable, and unreliable commitments in life, including marital.

18. JUVENILE DELINQUENCY -- behavior problems between the ages of 13-18; mostly behaviors that are crimes or clearly involve aspects of antagonism, exploitation, aggression, manipulation, or a callous, ruthless tough-mindedness.

19. REVOCATION OF CONDITION RELEASE -- a revocation of probation or other conditional release due to technical violations, such as carelessness, low deliberation, or failing to appear.

20. CRIMINAL VERSATILITY -- a diversity of types of criminal offenses, regardless if the person has been arrested or convicted for them; taking great pride at getting away with crimes.
That's like Jodi's resume.

On the trial FB page, I was reading comments and there are a few people who think Jodi was 100% justified in killing Travis. They called him a sadistic person who beat her all the time "as evidence shows". I know what I see when I watch, and everybody here seems to pretty much be in aggreeance that she's a nut with no cares over what she did. However, all it will take is one member of the jury to see her as the victim. What if she does get manslaughter? The thought makes me sick.

Oh ugh. I don't even want to think of what will happen if she gets her wish. :sad2: I can just see it now <wipes off crystal ball and peers into the future> ... a made for TV movie with Alyssa Milano playing Jodes, a tell-all book bashing Travis some more, on and on.

She would be perfect in the role. Hopefully there isn't much of a movie, or if there is, it has the happy ending of Jodi rotting in jail.

I never heard about this case until I saw the threads on here. Wow, just wow.

If it makes any of you feel any better, when the jury is instructed at the end I believe one of the standard instructions will be regarding evaluating the credibility of a witness. It's given here in civil and criminal cases, and I believe it is one of the standard instructions that is given around the country. They will be told some of the things they should consider is whether a witness answered questions forthrightly, evaded questions or argued or was combative with the lawyers.

If any of the jurors pushed any of their doubts about her demeanor aside because of the cuckoo claims about having difficulties when she is being "yelled" at or whatever BS she's been peddling, the instructions should make those jurors back up and reflect upon the difference in her demeanor and responses to her attorney and those she gave the prosecutor.

They have been talking about the jury. They say they have tuned her out. They have really quit taking notes. They took notes when Juan started talking about the third gas can and the rope.

Does anyone give any credibility to JA? I'm sure she will have followers.

Did anyone see the horrible gruesome pictures of Travis, they are certainly hard to look at? She had to have been in a rage!! She's a powerful woman to slice his throat from ear to ear, stab him 29 times, then shoot him in the head.

First she took pictures of him in the shower from all angles, then all of the sudden she killed him? Is that correct? Maybe that was the point where he told her he just wasn't interested in her and she was not going to Cancun with him? Not sure.

Also, she took pictures of herself nude and him nude before the murder? VERY VERY WIERD! Gives me chills
