Good luck for tomorrow. Just relax be your self, maintain eye contact, find out information about the company and about the job itself. I used to work for an recruitment company we used to make sure that all the candidates used to have company background and make sure they know what the position entails. They always seemed to like this. I am sure you will fine. Good luck let us know how you got on.

Well...I did the interview, was ok at the start, got a bit anxious near the end and thought I'd blown it, the manager was arrogant and was very annoying -

I have made the second interview. Next interview involves numeracy and literacy and another interview with someone else.

I got feedback from my agency that they liked my attitude, loyalty, the fact that I'd read up on the company but are worried that because the company I work for is smaller, it'll take me longer to get used to everything and be overwhelmed.

Not too sure if I want to work for them now to be honest, I can't work out if I am just nervous of a big change and am blaming the manager for an excuse.

Glad to hear it went okay Kevin. Maybe after a day or so of thinking things over it will become clearer. Sometimes it is difficult to move from a small company to a large company and vice versa. Perphaps if you go for the 2nd interview you will have more of a feel for the place and after all you don't have to take it but it's good interview experience. Another thing to take into consideration is that you have been at your present company a long time so where ever you decide to go it will feel strange, but given time that will pass.


Hope things work out for you the way you would like.

Well done in getting to another interview. See, despite your concerns regarding the manager you obviously have something going for you!! Change is worrying but at least youve made the first move. Some time next week. The other quandry I have is I can not leave my company untill October 14th and I got the impression this company would require me to start before that date, which would mean me losing my redundancy money.

Another thing to take into consideration is that you have been at your present company a long time so where ever you decide to go it will feel strange, but given time that will pass.

My wife said exactly the same thing to me. I agree. I think I'm going to sleep on things for a few days.

kev, my husband has been with the same firm for 19 years, and even though he wants to move on, when the opportunity arises he gets cold feet. all it is, is, a step into the unknown.
good luck with the second interview, and if you do get offered this job,dont back out, go for it. it will probably be the best thing that you have ever done. you never know til you have tried it!

Well done for getting the second interview! Just wanted to wish you good luck with that.

I also wanted to say that if it turns out you're not interested in this position at least you got that first interview out of the way! My husband had the same problem, he left the RAF 3 years ago after serving for 12 years. He didn't do as well as you in his first interview but after having a couple of interviews under his belt he felt 'like a pro' and got the job he wanted!

To me that's the problem, if you are loyal and have been lucky regarding not losing your job, you are at a disadvantage. If you are unloyal, move from job to job without a care - you are going to be better at interviews, having had more.
