Unless they were being filmed DURING that interview, and the interview was faux, and Letterman was in on it.

Why are the powers that be such buzz kills? I mean it was free publicity for Letterman and Joaquin... Dave was funny and raved about the movie more than once and Joaquin was odd but not off putting. It made me want to catch Letterman and the new movie... win-win, why would anyone NOT want publicity? Millions for the Superbowl and they pull the free stuff... someone isn't thinking clearly.

Hardly genious. It doesn't take a genius to get so messed up one twitches. And to the people who think he'd avoid drugs because of his brother's death, I remind you that drugs and alcohol are a family disease. Why is 'acting' high funny but 'being' high taboo? An act or not-I thought it off putting and sad. I didn't think Andy Kauffman was so smart either.

I hope it is an act, which I don't get the purpose of, but would rather it be that than he is that messed up because, WOW! I thought Dave was funny but I could hardly understand Phoenix, he was just mumbling.

If he is serious about this hip hop stuff he really needs to work on it because he is just plain bad, it was so bad it wasn't even funny if it was a prank.

He is a very talented actor, I hate to see him throw it all away.

I liked Kaufman on Taxi "Tank you very much", but didn't care for him anywhere else. He was just way too weird for me... deadpan weird just doesn't do it for me unless the character is a straight man for someone else really funny. The dynamic between David Letterman & him is just about the only arrangement that will make me laugh.

"You're a loser Nardo...Loooo-ha-oo-ser " I loved Danny Divito in Taxi too, he was so mean...it made everyone else's flaws look angelic.
What a great show, I have to try and find it on DVD somewhere.

I hope it was all a act.His brother remember died cause of drugs,and he has had problems with it too..

Kinda reminds me of John Belushi the way he is acting..He passsed away of drugs also!!
