Anybody else out there watch Joan of Arcadia?
I find this show very touching... not sappy tho. The teenagers portrayed seem very real to me. They are mopey, happy, bright, outright stupid, hormone driven, self involved, anxious, questioning, all the things a teenager really is.... and they are not all "pretty people"
There is a wide variety of characters on the show. The characters do not seem to be stereotypes or pigeon holed.
I like how God interacts with Joan. I like how he shows up as different people..... and how he Doesn't always show up at just the right time.
The show is not preachy. It does not try to offer concrete answers to the questions of life posed by/to the characters. Some ot the situations/questions presented are often complicated. I find that each show stirs up emotions.
I like because I often find conversation starters for my teens in the show. Many discussions have been elicited by a JofA episode.
I sure hope this stays around for a long time.
