JL leaving

What I saw from JL is what Pete saw in her before he hired her. There is an obvious talent and on air persona, but real emotion too. At this point I doubt she is reading any of this, but whomever does replace her has big tiny shoes to fill.
Agreed. Let's not go comparing different podcasters. JL is a very special person. She has passion and experience and a great perspective that is unique to her. She is articulate (most of the time :) ) and engaging for both adults and kids. It's not that easy to just stick a job listing online and find someone like that. So yes, I do think she is irreplaceable. Not to say that Pete won''t find another great team member because I'm sure he will, but just as nobody could replace Bob, nobody can replace JL in my mind at least.

Nicely said (and I agree), Steve!

I'll miss you JL you were definitely "on fleek" to me. (Did I even use that right??) But I look forward to that Video she did with Panda and the other Podcasters on Disney.
Technically, on fleek did refer to eyebrows specifically, but now I think it may have morphed to just mean "on point"

JL, you will be missed. You were talented and a great additional on the main show. However, you shined on the Universal show. I didn't watch the old one, though I think Craig is great on it. But once you joined, I enjoyed the show as much as the Dis. Blessings as you pursue your dreams and thank you for the time you shared with us.

Regarding people leaving, I have no idea what happens behind the scenes, and Pete could be an Oscar caliber actor who fools us. But from what I can see and read, the dedication of his team, the obvious care he shows to the team and the fun they have together, they have a pretty healthy work environment. I own my own business and have held leadership positions in larger corporations and I have rarely seen a talent evaluator and developer like Pete. So, of course, people are going to leave, that is what happens when you develop people. Keep up the good work, Pete, developing your team, even if it is painful sometimes. That is what great leaders do, and you do it well.

I'm am really going to miss JL. She definitely brought her own humor, style and a very human element to the show. All of us get attached to everyone on the various shows, especially since content has been expanding and we see all of them more and more. Pete, John, Kevin, Corey, Kathy, Theresa and now Tracey are all rooted at Dreams. That's where their careers are and that where they make a living. Doing shows are in addition to their "real" job although all the shows helps in driving more business to them. JL, Dustin, Steve and others that have left are not as tied to being there for the long haul. Their long term careers goals are probably larger than doing a podcast "forever" no matter how great that podcast is and how much all of us listens love it. I guess what I'm trying to say is people will come and people will leave. It's just the way life is.....

I am going to miss her a lot on the dis. She was great with the daily fix and in the parks with rhino. She will be missed . She has great talent Just curious why pete or any body didn't mention her at all for leaving the crew. Good luck JL !!

I had noticed she hadn't been on the DIS podcast in a while now. I don't watch the Universal show so I missed her goodbye. I used to watch her on the Attractions video podcast. I will miss her.

As it was discussed here it is impolite to speculate and what happens behind the scenes stays so.

@DisneyKevin explained it best to me about another member, they like to keep business and personal information out of the public eye so as to avoid conflicts and allow everyone involved to go about their lives.

We have shown our feelings about JL (as well as other previous employees), but must move on.

You can always research her on facebook or other outlets that she decides to share, but I would like to add one thing. Everyone involved with The Dis does deserve a level of privacy. I am not actually a stalker in Pete's backyard (though I play one on the interweb) and while I post outlandish theories, I expect people know I do so in a joking manor.

As on the other threads, I wish JL the best of luck and will miss her. These threads asking for intimate details bother me and I can see why the team ignores them.

I wasn't speaking about details. Wasn't implying wanting details where she was going or shy she was leaving. But to not even say JL will be leaving us and we wish her luck seems strange. I can't remember another podcaster that was there where there wasn't even a mention of good luck on the podcast.

JL posted a pair of high heels she was wearing the other day. Pretty sure she's a foot model now:p

They didn't mention anything with Shaun either. JL made a video seperate Of the universal show that's in the other JL thread. She said she would announce what she is doing when she can.
