Jingle Bell Jingle BAM Show at DHS with Dessert Party Details POST 8

I think the view during the party will be better than the view you'd have outside of the party, unless you want to wait for an hour and a half. If someone is blocking your view with their child on their shoulders, I don't see why you wouldn't immediately say something to the person in front of you, or get a CM. Doing nothing is just going to result in frustration, and doesn't give Disney the chance to make it right. :confused3
if anyone gets on shoulders in front of me, can I get on your shoulders? we'll probably be about 9' tall together lol

We were also at the party on Friday. I don't have time now to post a full review, but we were also frustrated with the lack of courtesy of other guests. A few parents placed kids on shoulders and that made it very uncomfortable. We were fortunate to have enough room to move around them, but people behind them asked (nicely) to have the kids removed from shoulders and they didn't care. Even yelling out to others "Too bad!". It was really unbelievable. A group of us moved around to accommodate as many people as possible, but I felt bad for those directly behind the rudeness. Not sure if anyone tried to get a CM for help. Other than that, the party was awesome! We already talked about doing it again but DH said he'd leave the party early to get our spot in the viewing area (i.e.- not behind anyone with a small child). Food and drinks were great! Yes, the viewing is not unobstructed from anywhere, but the viewing location was very good. The show designer gave an inside look today at the D23 event, so now we want to see it again.

I think this is very important feedback for @FastPasser ... they need to have CMs enforcing the no kids on shoulders rule and redirect those kids to the front viewing area with the wheelchairs if view is an issue. I bet if @yulilin3 sees that she will be saying something in the moment as well though.

We went to the dessert party Saturday night. I'm an unabashed Disney fan girl, so it pains me to say it just wasn't that enjoyable. The food variety isn't nearly as good as that offered at the Star Wars party. I enjoyed the apple drink, but I didn't like the gingerbread martini at all. Mostly, I missed the fruit and cheese. You need that to cut the sweetness of the desserts.

As for the show itself, neither my husband nor I was impressed. It's just sort of disjointed. I love Christmas, and I really wanted to love this. But I didn't.

We did MVMCP, the Jingle BAM dessert party and Club Villain this trip. Of the three, I'd absolutely do the other two again. But I'll skip this production in the future.

Did you do the dessert party at MVMCP or just MVMCP?

heck I was going to go for the XL packing bags!!! will someone help me dump the tray of meatballs into one? lol

Yes and yes! I'm sure we can form some kind of human pyramid of people in order to ensure we all get a good view! And don't get me started on the meatballs; I was just planning on bringing a gallon Ziplock bag in which to take the spinach dip back to my hotel! :rotfl2:

Unfortunately due to DHS management's desire for control, the viewing area is completely under their control and not under the control of the department that puts on the dessert party. Once you pass the last green light saber on the way to the viewing area, DHS CMs are in charge. The other group's CMs are clearing the party area of equipment and have nothing to do with the viewing area. They're actually walking out and enjoying a Gingerbread cookie while you're watching the show. BTW, they're delicious.
Thanks for the feedback. Is there someone we can email at DHS management to find out the rule for this. They may not be aware that it's an issue and may avoid upset guests if they get a handle on this. Everyone that pays for the dessert party should get a good view as the party is sold.

Got in at 7:45
Had 3 of the gingerbread drinks, soooo good
I'm getting the apple
So far the antipasto and meatballs ate really good, spinach do was a bit watery but good.
No lines for food or drink except the hot chocolate
