Jimmy Buffet restaurant at Universal

We went to the original one? In Keywest about 6 years ago, I thought that one was just as hokey, overpriced and a real dump!
My expectations were really high, and after going to that one, we have 'seen' the one at Universal, went into the gift shop, just as expensive, very overrated, if you are JB fan, and you want to experience it once, that once will be enough for you, it's the same thing as Planet Hollywood, HardRock, being a tourist and trying once- is more than enough!:sad2:

Although, I did like the bar set up with the plane in City Walk-all the props much better than KeyWest, very touristy.....that's why it's always packed!popcorn::

There's so many great places outside of the parks and Orlando proper itself that so much better.:flower3:

4/10 can't wait to get back to FL!:dance3:

There really are some great restaurants at the Universal Hotels. We love eating at Mama Della's at Portifino's. If you must go to Jimmy Buffet's, Try to eat there somewhere around 5:00. They do have good Nacho's... cheeseburgers, things like that.

I'm a huge Parrothead so a visit to Margaritaville is always on my agenda :D I love the Cheeseburger In Paradise. As for "that song" I grew up with it as my father raised me to be a Parrothead :thumbsup2 My first concert was when I was 12.

I don't remember Why don't we being played in Orlando or Key West

The funny thing about that song is that for the longest time, that cd remained in the cd player attached to our phones at work. I work in a busy PEDIATRIC MEDICAL OFFICE!!!! OMG, the parent that finally said something was sooooo livid. :rotfl2:

Ok, so call me a bad parent. We listen to Jimmy Buffett music all the time and I do not shield my kids from "that" song (3 kids under 11yo). They have never commented on the words and we certainly don't sing along to that particular song or turn the volume up. He's got plenty of other very family friendly tunes to sing too.

We ate there twice on our last visit and thought it was a great place for the kids....I do not recall hearing "that" song.

No, the food is probably not up to par with Emeril's....but I certainly wouldn't take my noisy crew to Emeril's either. Give me a loud, fun restaurant with decent food!

We just ate there a few weeks ago and my 7 YO was with us. No problems, it is a family friendly place. The food was just "okay". I was disappointed with the cheeseburgers. They're no Fuddruckers.
