I found the Mickey (above) at a local thrift store. It looks like a Jim Shore piece but there is no markings/words that say "Jim Shore" but a sticker was on the bottom...probably a price tag from the parks. But can any one identify this piece and whether or not it is Jim Shore?

If it is, what is the name of the piece?
If not, what is it called? (i'm sure i'm not the only one with this)

Not sure what it is or where it's from but I really don't think it's Jim Shore.

Most, if not all Jim Shore Mickey sculptures have a checkerboard pattern on the ears and some kind of swirly or geometric design on the base.

It's definitely not a Jim Shore piece. That paint job on it looks like someone made it in a ceramics class.

its definitely NOT home-made.
It had a park price sticker on the bottom that someone yanked off.

Well, if it was a Jim Shore there wouldn't have been a price tag on the bottom. It would have been on the box it came in. I have a few of his pieces and I agree with the others that it doesn't look like his work.

Is it resin, wood, or ceramic? Can you post a picture of the bottom?

I don't think it is Jim Shore. Most of their pieces have a very detailed almost quilt patterned accent. I would have expected that to be around a square base on your piece instead of the rounded base. There are other places on the figurine where more pattern could have been worked in also.

Did you Google it? Maybe that could help. Or even do some searching on ebay.

I have several of these pieces...they're from a 'rustic' themed Christmas collection Disney put out in the late 90s/early 00s. They're resin, not wood.

(Sorry for the size of the photos)

Thank you soo much for the info. If you didn't tell me it was resin I would be still thinking it was wood. :) I got mine for $1.00 so still a great piece.
