hope the new general manager concentrates on this area.
We should be able to make reservations online, track points, bank, borrow, select preferences, etc.
That's my #1 wish.

Well I wonder on the limited information angle. For example if I want to book an airline ticket on an airline, I do not get much information about the airline itself either good or bad.
There are many tidbits of information on this board that would not be in DVC's interests to publish and nor would it be in our collective interest if the nuggets of wisdom here were accessible in an advertised or compiled fashion from the WDW and DVC websites
I have pondered this some more my intial post and still have the same position - I like talking to the CM's.
Now, I do use the internet to buy some books, music, book airline tickets, rental cars etc. but I do find the CM's so nice and often able to add value/suggestions to my planning that I want to continue to interact by phone with DVC.
I do not want to see them invest $$$ into the web site(s) at the expense of our dues or has a management priority over some of the more fundamental issues out there such as upkeep, customer service, obtaining discounts for us, planning new resorts etc.
thanks

Good point - here is another one - I have never found info about the Carriage rides at POR on the WDW site - only here on the boardsI was thinking about things like the boat rentals. You have to call about prices. They don't mention the Captain's Plan or the Bike and Boat Plan or any of the other recreation packages on their website. As I was planning our May trip, I realized how little info I get from Disney compared to other sources.
While I agree and wish we had an imporved, usable web site, I wouldn't bet that Jim Lewis will be working on it as a high priority. I think he will concentrate on areas where DVC can expand profits and increase profit margins. The web site isn't in either of those catagories. Don't we pay for the current MS reservations system through our dues? Since we do, there is no big incentive for DVC to change the system.
I hope they use the same team that redesigned the WDW web site. That was first class effort. I am surprised at how different the various Disney sites are. I could understand differences between the theme parks and say ABC or ESPN. But notice the differences between the five theme park sites. I would have thought a more consistent look and feel would have been attempted.
