Jim Hill reports new thrill ride for WS Canada possible

WOW! the link worked and I hope it's true! I think WS could use a few more rides! thanks for the link and here's to hoping it's true!

That would be a great addition.

However, correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the individual countries were responsible for designing their pavilions and constructing their rides, not WDI. So, if this is to be a part of Canada, wouldn't they be responsible. This leads me to doubt this story very much.

Coming in 2006, The history of Back Bacon water ride!

they are trying to think of something to pick up that side of epcot a bit.

another idea going around was a coaster type of ride behind imagination pavillion - it would be another imagination type tour with those sort of story elements and effects.

one thing about raft idea is that it takes away from kali river's draw, and dak folks will push against it. epcot is already enjoying lots of refurb $ that couuld have went to beastly kingdom and a bugs land. remember dak was considered for soarin clone too. epcot needed the updates to keep a draw, but dak needs them, too, and personally i doubt that two so similar ride mechs put in, but we will see.

another thing is theres not a lot of room behind canada unless guests are going to raft down the fire break canal alongside beach club - theres some room but pretty tight.

Eh, you don' wanna be offendin' the Canadians, do ya'? I hear they don' like people talkin' aboot them like dat.

We all have SCTV and "Bob and Doug McKenzie" to thank for this (sadly many kids will never know the true origins of Tuke and Rutt).

Sounds like a good idea to me. I have not been since last summer and won't be there again until July so I can only imagine how large the building for Soarin is going to be or what it looks like already.

HEY  what's the deal... making fun of the Canadians eh?

:) glad to see the Canadian showcase will be the top draw... too bad there's nothing they can do to spruce up the Hall of Presidents :hyper:

Is anyone else singing "Take Off" right now besides me?

My DD5 wanted to know what the names of the moose are in Brother Bear. I said "Bob" and "Doug." She didn't get it.

Now where'd I put my Rush MP3s?

Len

Wow Len!!!! You have excellent taste in MP3's!!!

Election Year Roller Coaster?

New Thrill Ride: "Living in Canada".

A ride where every guest will be blatantly lied to before they elect to take the ride. Once they're on board, nothing happens and in some cases the guests will be asked for money... and more money. As the amount of money is being increased, the animatronics dolls will lie to the guest more and more, and giving them less and less quality service.

Everything is a lie.... just like Canadian government! :teeth:

(do you feel a hint of bitterness in me?)

The first thought that came to mind when I seen this thread was "why Canada?" it already has a movie. Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco and the U.K. have no attractions, so to speak. But after reading the article I understand. I hope it's true! I still wish they would give each world showcase pavillion a movie.

I do have to correct you. There are a few countries that Disney sopports in whole. Canada is one of them. The Canadian government is not responsible for any monetary contributions to the pavilion. It is one of only a few in the WS that is completely run by Disney. That is why they havent updated the film yet. They were going to until they decided to do the Millennium Village thing - all of the funding for film update went there.

Disney can do whatever they want with the Canadian pavilion - it's theirs.

Given the current state of the "World" they will probably paint the ride on the side of the Soarin' show building.
