Jiko

We're going to be in WDW the last week of feb. We'd like to try Jiko, but we're not sure if the budget will allow us too. Are they booked solid normally or will be able to get in as a walkin if we find at the end of the trip that our budget will allow it?

Well I know when we were there last week, we were able to change our ADRs around and add Jiko without too much trouble, but I don't know if we were just lucky.

Why not book if for the night you might want, and then just cancel the ADR. They ask that you give 48 hours notice for cancelations of ADRs is all.

We were there 2 weeks ago and had ADR's for a Friday night. The place was full that night but it was a Friday. The people checking in at the podium before us did not have ADR's and were not happy with whatever they were told (I wasn't listening so either they were told they couldn't get in or they'd have a very long wait).

I agree with PP. I would make the ADR now for the end of your trip and then just cancel at the 48hr window if you are not going to be able to afford it. If you do go, make sure you budget enough for appetizers and the pumpkin soup, in addition to your entrees. I believe the appetizers and soup are better than the entrees by a long shot.

Last trip in december we added it at the last minute. We did have to eat at 530pm through. It was really good and we plan on going back in june.

We just returned from AKL yesterday... wonderful! Although with our little ones, we didn't go to Jiko (which is our favorite restaurant) opting for Boma instead since it is a little more child friendly.
Reservations at both were a bit tight (one night when we didn't have an ADR, we had choices of 5pm or 8:30pm). Make an ADR and save your pennies now

Boma is also an excellent choice... all you can eat... and about the price of an entree at Jiko.
