DH, DS-10 months, and I will be going to Disney for DS's first meeting with Mickey this September during free dining. I've booked dinner at Jiko's for one of the evenings after we leave AK. Do you think a 10-MO at Jiko's will be ok? Will I be at my wits end trying to make sure he's quiet and on his best behavior? Is it worth the 2 dining credits? Or will we be better off going to Boma's or elsewhere? I have no idea how DS will be eating by then - a wonderful diner or a food-throwing little guy! Any opinions/suggestions?

Like you said..there is no telling how the child will behave until you get there.

Jiko is definately worth having dinner at. Now, if the child is not in the mood to sit still, or sleep in his stroller while you have dinner then I would be prepared to have the server box up your food and take it back to your room so the little guy can go to bed.

I don't see a 10 month old being a problem. Even though Jiko is a more upscale experience than the majority of WDW restaurants, you still see kids of all ages there. We have brought our daughter, who turns 2 at the end of June, to Jiko numerous times and never had an issue with anything or anyone. Besides, by dinner time at WDW, she's so worn out and in a zombified state from a fun/overstimulating day, she'll typically sit there eating while she quietly decompresses. Just make sure you get your ADRs at a reasonable hour. We used to dine every night around 8pm. Now, we're eating between 5:30-6:00.

Jiko is one of the more sedate restaurants in WDW, at least the evening we were there. It was very quiet & we saw only older children there, I think our resv. was for 6:30 or 6:45.

It depends. How is he normally at quiet restaurants? If he's normally pretty amiable, then I would say book it. If you haven't taken him to an upscale restaurant, I would make reservations at a place locally and try it out before you make ADR's for Jiko.
