We ate at Jiko's 2 times during this trip. The first time I forgot my camera and was too tired to go back to room to get it. So I don't have a picture of that food.
First time was 12-21-02
My DH and I went. It was a very nice romantic dinner!
I had the South African Lobster Tail as my Entree. It was very good.
My DH had the Cucumber, Tomato and Red Onion Salad with Swirled Cottage Cheese and Watermelon Vinaigrette. I tasted it and it was great!
For my DH Entree he had the Pan Roasted Monkfish with vegtables of the moment, Crispy Parsnips and Tomato Butter Sauce. Once again a great dish!
Total Bill was $46.00 w/o tip
Our second time we went was 12-26-02. All 3 of us went. me, my DH and our DS.
My DH had a bad sinus infection so he just wanted soup. He ordered the Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with Shredded Spinach, Sagh Dhal and Homemade Yogurt. He said it was just what he needed!
I ordered the Cucumber, Tomato and Red Onion Salad
My DS ordered the Duck Firecracker....Hot "spring" Rolls with Hoisin Dipping Sauce and Red Cabbage and Apple Slaw.
For my Entree I once again had the South African Lobster Tail!
My DS had the Oak Grilled beef Tenderloin with "Macaroni & Cheese" and Red Wine Sauce. Excellent!
We did not have any wine since we had just come from Concierge at the AKL and had the Indaba South African Wine there!
Total Bill was $68.90 w/o tip
This is another favorite place of ours!
