Jiko question

DH and I need to give up our V&A reservation for something less expensive (for a good reason - we're buying a house!). We still are planning a date night without our kids during our August trip. I'm leaning towards Jiko - im dying to see AKL and ive read good reviews of Jiko - but I have a few concerns...

I am not a picky eater in general but I strongly dislike any and all dishes containing curry. Indian curry, Thai curry, it doesn't matter. If it's there I can taste it and I won't eat it! (My DH likes curry and swears I have supersonic taste buds!) I don't mind spicy, it just can't be curry or other Indian spices (not a fan of Tandoori either).

Will I be able to enjoy eating at Jiko with these food "issues"???

I had one of the best meals of my life at Jiko's. I don't like curry either and I was able to avoid it. My DH tried the Monkfish and it was wonderful! You will love it!!

There are plenty of dishes without curry at Jiko. And your server should be able to steer you in the right direction. I've always been amazed at how knowledgeable the servers are there!

I don't view Jiko as a restaurant that serves a lot of curry. The menu has an African slant, while curry is more Indian. Sanaa, another Animal Kingdom Lodge restaurant, seems to have more curry, Tandoori and other Indian flavors.

I love Jiko and consider it one of Disney's absolute best restaurants. The servers are wonderful, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is lovely. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I looked at the menu at Sanaa and I know I couldn't eat there. My impression was that Jiko was different from Sanaa and I'm happy to get confirmation. Thank you for the rapid responses!
