My comment about Narcoossee's vs Jiko really isn't about your 9yo, we have an 8yo. Jiko will be boring for a child. Narcoossee's with the lagoon, deck, etc. is simply more entertaining. If you dine later and can get the water pageant and or fireworks it is even more entertaining. Jiko will be good food in an interesting atmosphere, but a running creek is only so interesting to a 9yo unless he's in it! At this stage I wouldn't take ours to Jiko, but wouldn't hesitate to take him to Narcoossee's again. It is the atmosphere, not the child or the food that would keep me from bringing him.
It may be hard to picture or understand, but there is a decided difference in the kind of meal experience you'll have at either even with great food each place.
At Jiko I had the donut dessert, it is good. I don't care for coffee so I had cinnamon ice cream instead of the coffee, it was wonderful. My friend had the chocolate trio which came with a carmel ice cream, that ice cream was great too!
