Okay, I need your opinions if you've eaten at both of these before. I need one more dinner ADR and I can't decide which of these to choose....so please tell me which one you would choose and why. Thanks for any input!:goodvibes

We have eaten at both of them since the days they opened. We have taken family and friends, introduced new people to both places. Everyone loves them both.

The menus are great, both have wonderful wine lists and completely different experiences. You can't go wrong with either.

Hmm...now I'm wondering if I should change our anniversary dinner from Artist Point to Jiko... :scratchin

We had dinner at Jiko last year and LOVED it... We've never dined at AP, but we have an ADR for dinner in 9 days... We're planning on getting the pork chops, they look good... I'll ask DH what he prefers... lol

Wazzo: Thanks for the pictures and reviews... :)

We've done both and you won't go wrong with either. Our personal preference is for AP.

I agree-you probably can't go wrong with either place. DH and I have eaten at both places. He prefers AP and I prefer Jikos. I think it's mostly about which food you prefer. He loves the Portobello mushroom soup at AP, I love the Halibut w/sweet potato crust at Jikos. We've had great atmosphere and excellent service at both places.

I would vote for Jiko. I've eaten both AP and Jiko, I enjoyed both the food and the service a lot more at Jiko. AP isn't bad, I just prefer Jiko. I had red meat at both restaurants (buffalo at AP and filet at Jiko) and the buffalo was overdone and the filet was perfect. I had the mushroom soup at AP and it was way too rich for me. I did love the berry cobbler for dessert at AP though. I had the tamale app at Jiko and it was really good. I had the chocolate cake tower for dessert and it was also good. I think you'll enjoy either, but I just think AP offers a better package between food and service.

I personally prefer Jiko. However AP is in my top three, so I don't think you can go wrong with either. The food at Jiko is a bit adventurous and unusual compared to AP. But both have excellent food.

If you go to AP and order the buffalo. Order the meat rarer than you normally would as the same temperature will produce different results in beef and buffalo.

We've eaten at both restaurants and plan to do so again in November. I also feel that you can't go wrong with either dining experience, but I would give the slight edge to Jiko. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the responses everyone!! I think we're going to try Jiko's this time. Both menus looked good to me, that's why I was having such a hard time deciding......., I'm sure we'd enjoy either restaurant.

We have eaten at both more than once and Jiko is by far the better place to eat. We have been dining there since it opened and it is a fantastic place to dine. The food and service are excellent. We have dined at AP twice and were not very impressed either time. The food and service were just not very good. I had there pork chop on our last visit and it was so tough that I had to send it back twice. Jiko all the way...........................

Another Jiko's fan here! We, too, have eaten at both and found the food quality and atmosphere to be quite a bit higher than at Artist Point. :thumbsup2

Chef Annette is no longer with Jiko, so I'm not sure how/if that will factor into your decision. We've always found both AP & Jiko to be of very similar quality; neither is our favorite WDW restaurant. They're fine, though we've always left both feeling underwhelmed. The food isn't offensive (though I was ticked that Jiko put bacon on one of our dishes, after we'd told them that we don't eat meat and they'd agreed to accommodate us). Neither place wows us.

Here is a link to our most recent Jiko dinner:

Both are great restaurants, among my favorites at WDW. If I had to choose just one though, I would go with Jiko. (Better yet, bump something else off your list and go to both!)

Good choice. We've eaten at both more than a few times. Jiko's is our favorite restaurant at WDW. AP is also very good, probably in our top 5. But nothing is like Jiko's.
