A question for anyone who has been to Jiko recently. Can you still get the mac n cheese with the Filet? I had read somewhere that they only offer the standard kids mac n cheese now. Anyone know if this is true? Thanks!

It's no longer on the menu but you can still ask for it the last I heard.

Thanks for the quick reply. We have done that before but I heard that recently they changed the mac n cheese and it is now more like Kraft. Just hoping to get confirmation on that one way or the other as we will probably cancel our reservation if that is the case.

There's noplace on property that I know of that serves Kraft mac an cheese, much less Jiko. But maybe someone did get some recently and can say if it's changed.

It may have been my post you saw, but just in case it wasn't, I'll post it again here! We had dinner at Jiko on May 17th of this year and I tried to order the Mac and cheese with my filet - telling her I had heard it was really good and seen photos online. The waitress looked at me sadly and she said "Now, I just want you to know that we no longer do the Mac and cheese that you've seen from previous years. We recently changed it and the only Mac and cheese we have is the kids meal Mac and cheese." She acted like it was really low quality and highly discouraged me from ordering it, so I didn't. All of the kids meal Mac and cheese that I've seen in Disney looks a lot like Kraft, but I have to admit a) I don't have kids and b) that was just based on photos. So it could be better than Kraft! I'm not sure, haha. I just know she said it is definitely NOT the Mac and cheese everyone had pics of on yelp :sad1: that is just what I was told. I was very bummed as I wanted to try it!!!

Yes, I think it was your post I saw. Thanks for responding, I was hoping that maybe your experience was a one time thing (I know, wishful thinking). Just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced that too. The filet with mac n cheese is one of my favorite meals and I don't know if I want to keep our upcoming reservation if I we can't have it!

May I suggest you try the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club resort. The steaks are incredible and they have a fabulous mac and cheese as a side dish. We're headed there in November.

I certainly hope it WAS just a one time thing! Please keep me updated, everyone! I'd still really love to try it, if it does turn out that it was just a fluke thing.

They still have it, don't take no for an answer! We went to Jiko on May 20th of this year and our server asked if we wanted the filet the "old way" or the "new way". Of course we had to get it the old way with the mac-n-cheese and it was delicious. Same way they used to serve it, it's my all-time favorite entree at Disney World and it was just as good as always.

100% disagree...this has been coming up alot lately...

As far as Mac and cheese...I believe they still serve stouffers at liberty tree...not Kraft but not out of the ballpark either.

Oh my gosh, yay!!! That's great news! Although I am kind of miffed at the server lady for telling me they were no longer able to make it and that they had changed it out >:( that was rather rude of her! And we won't be back to Disney for several years, so that's sad. Ah well, I hope you guys at least get to enjoy some Mac and cheese! Haha

Stouffers is no longer the sponsor of Liberty Tree. it's now Ocean Spray cranberries.

I would be so annoyed too! I can't believe she told you that!

I told my husband that you can still get the Mac and cheese (I really wanted to try it, I was so mad! Haha) and he was like, "what?! Well crap. Now I'm kind of mad we tipped her so well!!" :rotfl: she was a great waitress otherwise, but now I'm wondering if she just told me they didn't have it anymore because it was more work to do the Mac and cheese or something :confused3 or maybe she thinks the spoon bread that the filet comes on is better. But regardless, if they had it she should have given it to me. If I'm paying $50 for an entree, I want what I want! Lol

Just back from our trip and wanted to let everyone know that we dined at Jiko on 7/3 and did get the mac n cheese with the filet. In fact when our waitress first came to tell us about the menu she suggested the filet and said we could get it with the spoonbread, as on the menu, or the old way with the mac n cheese. I really love it with the mac n cheese but my son got it with the spoonbread and that was great too!
