Jiko Bar Reservations

Hey guys, I really wanna do apps and drinks at the Jiko bar/lounge area.....do I need to make reservations for 1?

Not sure. That area (as you may know) is quite small.
Anyone else?
Don't think that if you do make reservations you can ahead of time ask for the bar. I think you would do that when you actually arrived at the restaurant.

I agree with Uncleromulus. It is a very small area - only 3 or 4 tables I think. It is usually filled with folks waiting for their tables for dinner. I know I have seen people eating there, but I don't know if they had a reservation for dinner and chose to eat there, or whether they were able to "walk up" and just get something to eat there.

We've had drinks there while waiting for our table, I'm not sure they even take ressie's. I think if you jst hang out and wait for the next couple to be called for dinnere, you can sit down and order....you might want to call them directly to check though.

We've done this a couple of times, generally later in the evening (after 8pm) and have not needed a reservation. The tables are rather small, but perfect for a bottle of wine and and some appetizers/desserts. One of our favorite things about staying at AKL.

No, you do not need reservations. I don't think you can even make them. There are only 4 barstools. There are some small tables in the area, but when it's busy they seat regular patrons there - if that's happening you'll need a barstool. I prefer that for one person, because you can chat with the bartenders. I don't see lots of guests eating at the bar. I've always gotten a seat there by just walking in. It's treated more as a waiting area and a lot of persons probably don't know you can order a full meal there.

Nope you just go in and take a seat if there is one or wait for one! Enjoy!

Definitely just grab a seat at the bar. If they're full just wait a few minutes and something will open. We frequently have a drink, a few appetizers, and desert at the bar.

Me and my wife have gone down a couple of times and sat at the bar without reservations, you can order off the entire Jiko menu to which is a real plus.
