My dh and I will be going to Jiko in September. I was wondering if there are any areas of this restaurant that are more desireable than others (i.e.- are there any table by windows with a nice view, is there a part of the restaurant that is visually more interesting than other parts, etc.) I got the earliest PS available, and was hoping to possibly put in a request for a nice section if they have one. For some reason, when my dh and I go out to eat we so often seem to get placed in an undesireable spot, like right next to the kitchen entrance or out in the open in a high traffic area. We really are looking forward to eating here and don't want to be dissapointed with a bad table location! Any advice would be appreciated!

Then sit at the Cooking Place itself!

Have not done this as of yet but next time!

If memory serves me correctly the tables for two are along the Glass Wall and there really isn't any heavy traffic at Jiko's!

You'll enjoy! It's one of our fav restaurants! Ask for Sally, if she is still there, she is very knowledgeable about the place and the menu!

I am drooling as I am writing this!LOL

Enjoy!

I know what you mean-it happens to us occasionally.
If memory serves, most of the tables are pretty "OK" and we 've never requested any particular spot.
Don't be afraid of asking for a different table--especially if the restaurant isn't jammed to the rafters with people.

We have been seated by the long windows several times and it is great place to sit. There is a water feature sorta like a lilly pond along the windows. There is moving water, plants, and it is lit up... very pretty!

We have been seated all over the restaurant and the tables along the glass wall are the best.

Hey Laura,

I was just treated to dinner by my new boyfriend (sans the kid) last Friday evening. Had a wonderful meal. My personal preference is sitting near the window, with a nice view of the water. There is a little pond there with lights at night. Very nice.

I've never had a bad table at Jiko, and I'm not sure there are any bad tables. It is an exceedingly well-designed space. You might like the window better or over by the cooking place. It's gonna hard to go wrong with great chefs, a first class menu and wine list, great service and outstanding space (can you tell I really like it there?). Enjoy!
