JFK crazy for August trip

WELL, I have finally given up on JFK, at least using Delta. We left on 8-20, and the terminal was in total chaos. Only way to describe it, and it was about 7:15am when we arrived. Line OUTSIDE for skycaps was 200 people long, at least. We went inside, 8:40 flight, and it was wall to wall people. You could not even see where the internet terminals were, and there was a long line snaking around and around, with clumps of confused people in between. The situation was so confusing, you did not even know what line was for what. We only made our flight because we have my son in the wheelchair, and they assisted us to a special line. We sat in plane waiting to take off for 45 minutes, because they knew they were missing 20 bags. Finally they gave up, and we left without those bags (one was ours, it arrived later to our hotel). Coming back, 8-27, we also waited an hour for our bags to come out at JFK...... Along with a few other flights, so it was gridlock in baggage claim as well. I have flown out of there many times, JetBlue, and Song. But this was extreme craziness.

JFK is one of my least favorite airports. I go out of my way to avoid flights going through there.

I must agree about JFK. Getting there is a nightmare, parking there is a nightmare, travelling to and from there is a nightmare. I will pay $50 more per ticket to fly out of BDL.

JFK is beyond horrible. I think they could learn many good lessions from LGA.
