I just saw that JetBlue opened up their December availability. Pricing from Buffalo to Orlando - $1,347 USD for my family of 5. Direct flights both ways, first checked bag is free. Less then half of what Air Canada wants.

Should I be happy with this price? Feels like it...or is it worthwhile to wait for Southwest to bringtheir prices out in 4 weeks.

Thoughts? Opinions? Experience?

Thanks!

Southwest may be less expensive, so I guess it comes to personal preference. I paid just under $1200 for 6 seats this past December. I'm a happy Jetblue customer and don't even bother looking at Southwest. What I would suggest is that if you jump at Jetblue keep checking back. If you know you will fly again within a year then if the price for your flight goes down you can call them up and they will give you a credit for the difference. Since we are DVC members we know we will be back in at least a year, so it works perfectly for us.

It's so hard to say right now. I have been pricing flights closely for a few years now. We go once or twice a year. It used to be that we could go for 800 for the four of us out of Buffalo on Southwest or Jetblue with direct flights. Not anymore:sad2: The prices have climbed in the last year and stayed high.

That sounds about right for a decent price for the 5 of you. You may have better luck with two things. One is flying from midweek to midweek rather than weekend to weekend. We usually save a good amount that way. The other is to price your flights on a Tuesday or Wednesday. The prices are always a bit cheaper during the week and go higher on the weekends.
Use "Bing Fare Predictor". It will compare all of the carriers out of the cities you input and make a recommendation on whether to buy now or wait.

All that being said.. I think 250 a person for direct flights and out of Buffalo is decent and I personally would book it.

For comparison... we are flying out of Detroit in August and we live less than an hour from the Buffalo airport. I couldn't get us under 1600 for the 4 of us out of Buffalo:sad2:n However, out of Detroit direct flights were 800 for the four of us. It was worth the 5 hour drive for me.
So my advice would be to book. :)

I just booked our flights out of BUFFALO 3 nights ago for DEC 2. We usually take the direct flight on JET BLUE. We are True blue flyers. We prefer Jet Blue. More leg room better coffee(dunkindonuts coffee):cool1: You dont feel cramped in. You have an assigned seat. Southwest you have book on the flight then 24 hours before the flight register for a BOARDING LETTER. A B or C. Usually u get B or C. So you dont know where you are sitting and pick your seats as you board. We paid $124 plus I think $10 tax for each ticket. I will be looking again on computer for flights home on Jet Blue. Will be booking the direct flight home. Its Great because it leaves around 6pm so that gives us another day at Disney. Its nice at the DISNEY resort. You can check your Bags in at the Resort and dont worry about them until you arrive in BUFFALO.
