We fly JetBlue
First time DME users
We want our luggage under the DME bus - late flight in and do not want our luggage delivered into our room at mid-night or 2 AM
So we get our own luggage - no use of DME yellow luggage tags

Jet Blue comes in on the A side
Luggage pickup is on level 2 A side

DME is on the 1st floor B side

How do we get to DME with our luggage ?

Thank you!

Nice thread here that might have the answer.

My other answer is "follow the signs" but that's likely a super-annoying answer to anyone that isn't me. :)

As an FYI you can request when you check in at the front desk of your resort for them to hold the luggage until the morning. Last year our luggage took a little bit extra to get to the resort (we arrived around 9) and it was about 1230a when it arrived. I was just about to call and check on it when I noticed the message light on the phone was blinking (they can leave a message with out the phone ringing at night so they don't wake you) the message said to call when we wanted it. So if your only concern is a late delivery that can be avoided. But if you arrive after 10p you will have to get your own luggage regardless.

I'm not 100% sure how to get from JB baggage claim to MDE so I'll leave that to the others, though I do believe it involves going back up at least a level or two going across the terminal then then back down to the MDE level.

In general, to get from JB baggage claim to DME;
  • take the A side elevator up to floor 3,
  • drag luggage across the terminal to the B side,
  • take the elevator down to level 1 and
  • head left to get to the DME counter.

You will arrive in level 3, Side A. When you get off the tram (runs from the gate area to the main terminal), head to Baggage Claim, Side A. You will go down to level 2, find the appropriate baggage carousel for your flight, and get your bags. Take the elevator back up to level 3, main terminal. Cross over to Side B, take elevator down to level 1, ground transportation, and down to the end where you'll find DME.
