Apparently all we have to do is swipe our bar coded JB reservation printout and we're in, is that true? I don't recall this being the case the last time we flew them out of EWR. Any info on this process would be appreciated. Is this done at their counter or elsewhere?

Thanks,

You can also use a credit card. It's to identify you and pull up your reservation.

sorry, what do you guys mean ?

When you get to the airport, most airlines have kiosks where you can check in, using your confirmation number, frequent flyer number, credit card, etc. They can be by the ticket counter, but can also be other places. At IAD, United has some kiosks on the baggage level.

So do these Kiosks then give us our tickets? Or do we still go to ticket counter too? Sorry I'm a little confused, this is the first time flying JB and our first time flying out of the U.S. as we're from Ontario :))

You don't actually get paper tickets these days (with rare exceptions). All you need is your confirmation number and boarding pass, which is what you print at the kiosks. Of course, you can check in online at home and print your boarding passes there. That is all you need, along with id.

If you have no bags to check, you can usually do your checkin on-line up to 24 hrs prior to your flight. You can then print out your boarding pass right then. When you get to the airport, you can go right to security. But if you have checked bags, you will have to go to the counter any way. You can checkin at home and print your boarding pass then, but you still have to go to the counter to get those bags checked.

Or if you have your boarding passes, you could do curbside check of your bags (if this is offered by your airline), and bypass the ticket counter, going straight to security.

That's true. I seldom do curbside since I hate having to add any more tips into my travel equation!
