Hooray! Already booked the package deal: now to book the flights and cancel the days we won't need! CANNOT wait to get my ticker!

We'll be looking at April 12 to 21. I hope jetBlue offers good options (school vacation).

Kayak was showing some incredible fares for Presidents Week on Jetblue today. But when I click on the link to buy the ticket it takes me to Jetblue's site and says those dates are not yet available!

I thought I hit the lotto but no dice

Is it best to book as soon as the fares are released or is it better to wait? I'm a little hesitant to wait because we are flying during MA April vacation which is one of the times we always avoid but couldn't for this vacation. I thought the best fares were approx. 4 months prior to flight time but vacation week makes me nervous.

Hard to say. But I will tell you I never buy airfare far in advance and have paid dearly for that mistake on presidents week for the past few years (well I paid dearly not w cash but with inconvenience as I have instead flown out of airports like Allentown,PA, Philly and Baltimore - and I live near LGA).

My question is what time do the fares get published. Cause if kayak is right, I am snagging a bargain tomorrow

I agree, did you notice that priceline was letting you go through the booking online at their guarnateed rate? I went right throught to the payment process, but am to chicken to buy flights on priceline!

I noticed this too! Would I dare? :confused3 If someone just stumbled on Priceline and didn't have a clue Jet Blue wasn't out until tomorrow....how would they know? What's the difference between booking with Priceline or directly with Jet Blue?

I'm wishing my weekend away for 12:00 ET Sunday! lol

I bet when you click to pay it will bomb out (I had this sort of thing happen when booking a flight four 4 seats when I knew only 3 were available).

But when I get home I am going to give it a try. I will post results later.

How likely does everybody think it is that the fares showing on Kayak will turn out to be correct? That's $150pp cheaper than SWA (well, a little less of a savings once I pay for those extra leg room seats but I don't count that since it's something not available on SWA and sounds TOTALLY worth the extra cost).

Are they always accurate on their time for when they release flights into the system for booking?

I was wondering the same thing. Some of the fares I saw were really great. Noon tomorrow can't come too soon!

I was very confident those would be the prices, especially after Priceline was showing the same prices....however, Expedia, Bookit etc. are all showing considerably higher. I just want to grab them on Priceline now but I'm too scared as I've never dealt with them before. I also just notice Kayak says "one 1 seat remaining at this price" for the fares I'm looking at.

Interesting. Just spent a few minutes playing on Kayak's JetBlue "options," and for similar flight times on competing airlines out of the same airport (EWR) I did not see glaring savings. Bummer.

There were good deals to be had if we'd be willing to travel at horrible times, but I will be hoping for something to cheer about tomorrow. I'd hate to think I've waited all this time with nothing to show for it! :-)

According to Priceline site:

In the event, however, that a service is listed or provided to us at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or other error in pricing or service information received from an airline, Priceline and/or the airline retain the right to refuse or cancel any Requests placed for such service. Priceline and/or the airline shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such Requests whether or not the order has been confirmed and/or your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your Request is canceled because of incorrect airline information, Priceline and/or the airline will promptly issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. In the event that an airline publishes a fare at one price and later determines not to honor that fare at that price, Priceline is not responsible and cannot honor the price that was originally listed by the airline. Only the airline can determine whether or not to honor the mis-stated price.

Makes me worry that if they take my payment, I could still be screwed out of my ticket. I guess its best to wait until noon and pray that these Kayak prices are legit.

The Kayak fares are likely the lowest fare bucket. No one ever knows how many tickets there are at that price but they typically go fast when the sked opens.

Thank you for posting! I am so glad I was surfing tonight instead of sleeping - will make sure I am online at noon tomorrow (well really later today now!).
