JetBlue adding Even More Space rows to Embraer 190

FYI to tall folks who fly Jet Blue: the airline is adding more 'Even More Space' rows to its Embraer 190 aircraft. Previously, this plane only had these rows in rows 1 and 12 (which is an exit row, so no kids).

According to a reputable source on another message board (yes, I know, an oxymoron):

The 190's have been reconfigured to add rows 13-14 to the EMS section. The change has been quietly done over the last few months. About a month ago the seats went into an airport block to only allow day of assignment. Starting August 1st the 8 new seats on the 190 will be available for sale and purchase. Up until now customers got access to the new seats without paying because the fleet wasn't fully configured yet. As the planes went in for reconfiguration they also got the new updated remote controls.

If it weren't for the fact that I was able to buy the seats yesterday, I would have been skeptical. But the purchase went through and the JetBlue website seems to be selling them.

They were available when i booked on June 13. I wish they had them more forward like on the A320s.

They have been adding to the E190s for a couple of months but did not make them public until they were complete.

I took advantage of the free EMS seats for a couple of flights as B6 had not changed their booking system until the change was complete on all planes.

More Even More Space Seats on our E190s!

We’ve reconfigured our Embraer E190 fleet to offer two more rows of Even More Space seats. For a small additional fee, sixteen seats in rows 1, 12, 13 and 14 offer extra legroom and are now available on all of our 100-seat E190 aircraft.

Rows 1 and 12 offer 38 inches of legroom while rows 13 and 14 offer 39 inches in addition to bonus Even More services including early boarding, early access to overhead bin space and Even More Speed expedited security at select airports.

We continue to provide the most legroom in coach of any U.S. airline, plus comfortable two-by-two seating for all travelers on the E190. On our Airbus A320 aircraft, Even More Space seats with 38-inches of legroom are offered in rows 2-5 plus emergency exit rows 10 and 11.

The price of Even More seats varies according to route and can be booked at www.jetblue.com or via 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583), or during the check-in process, subject to availability.
