Jet Blue Questions…

The schedule for this December is set now. They might adjust the exact timing to work with runway and gate slots, but I wouldn't expect them to add more flights.

If the fare difference is already $340 three months out, I don't see that falling. Maybe check the seat map to see if the 12/14 flight is close to full. Otherwise, you're taking a big risk by waiting until the last minute. Sunday is the most expensive day to fly, so seeing that price difference on a longer flight doesn't surprise me.
Just an FYI - Jet Blue just changed my October flight yet again - its been several times in the last month - so they are constantly making changes.

They are also not good about informing people of the changes - I check prices daily because they fluctuate daily.
This is all part of the optimizations they are doing to make the Airline profitable.
I get it - but it does get annoying to say the least. Id call in to discuss it with them or chat on line - they have been pretty good when I had to deal with them.

Also of note - always book one way flights with Jet Blue - yes its a little bit more of a headache - but more than once I have saved good amount by booking and rebooking one leg of a flight. You don't typically save anything by booking a return flight like you do with other airlines. When you book with points they even suggest it for that reason.

If you book a return flight you have to rebook everything and often one leg has gone up say $50 and the return down $50 so not saving anything.
