Without more information to the current flight you are looking at, it's hard to say. In general I would expect to pay more this year and next than the last few years in part that airlines have cut capacity and have been successful and raising fares to profit levels.
That said, Jet Blue does allow you to obtain refunds if you book a flight and there are seats available at a lower price at a later date (as long as it's the same exact flight). Many will say you will need to call, but I've done this all online, you just modify your flight and go through the process, it will deposit the funds into a travel bank account, good for one year from the date the credit is applied and can be used by anyone (this is different than Southwest where it is one year from original date of purchase and can only be used by the original ticketed passenger).
