Just wondering what Jet Blue is like into Tampa? Usually fly Continental...but the times and price is right to fly into Tampa.

Never flown JB to Tampa, but to fly them to Vegas and they are great. Easy to do business with, great attitude from the FA's and staff, and those TV's are addictive!

As far as flying to Tampa rather than MCO, the big downside is giving up ME. The small downside is a slightly longer drive to WDW. If those two aren't deal-killers, its a great choice.

WE flew Delta out of Tampa last May...have to tell you, we love this airport. It is small, friendly, well laid out. My ds has moved to Tampa so I see us flying in or out of here more often when we combine a trip to Orlando with seeing him. It was just such a nice experience.

Jet Blue is great. Tampa airport is great. Fly Jet Blue to NYC all the time, but never to Tampa. The combo should be great though.

We flew JB in and out of TPA from/to JFK. It was a breeze. After de-planing we took a shuttle train to baggage claim, then right out the door to the Alamo stop. Everything was clearly marked and went smoothly. :thumbsup2

TPA puts MCO to shame....The layout is so quick, you are on I-4 in minutes and to Disney in no time. Most car rental companies at TPA are offsite, but other then that, its excellent!!

I am glad to see all of this positve feedback about Tampa. We will be flying into Tampa for the first time on our Jan 2007 trip as we are going to spend a day at Busch Gardens before going onto Disney.

Busch Gardens is a nice change from Disney (Although it will never be as good!!) I recommend staying (if you haven't already found something) around the Westshore area. I always recommend the Springhill Suites by Marriott (Tampa Arpt/West Shore) or Hilton Tampa Arpt....

Thanks for the tip but we are staying at the Westin Tampa Harbour Island for two nights on Starwood Perferred Guest points. We should land in Tampa around 2pm and our plan is to hang out at the hotel and then we are heading to BG on Sunday and planning on spending the day doing a couple of tours, including the sunset one and then we are driving to WDW on Monday morning. It should be a nice change of pace.

Piling on here...JetBlue is tops for service and customer experience. TPA is simply a great airport, so much better than MCO and one of the best in the nation. The combo of JB and TPA is probably the most civil air travel event you can have. Car rental..I'd suggest Hertz...it's on-site, right outside the baggage claim area. Some recent construction on the ramps near the airport...just be careful.

Thanks for the additonal information. I have a car reserved through Avis right now as I am flying home from MCO.

We flew in and out of TPA in our Aug. trip and it was a breeze. The drive to WDW was approx 1 hr. 20min. It was very easy using Alamo and their shuttle service. I highly recommend using TPA. :thumbsup2
