Most people who are visiting WDW are probably having so much fun that they dont even notice the skywriter.I didnt notice him at all until my oldest DS pointed it out.I looked around and most people didnt seem to notice.I only saw a few people looking up and they were smiling.

Jesus loves you is not obscene and it is not illegal.

Personally, I wouldn't care anyway. I use offensive language all the time.

But not everyone does. The sky is not something people can just ignore. It's not something people can chose to live without. IF you don't like McDonald's, you don't eat there. If I don't like something written in very large letters in the sky, I can't get a new sky. What he is doing is imaginative and I'm sure some people like it. The problem I have is that those same people would be throwing a fit if his message was something different.

I guess if this bothers you so much you should write to your congressmen about making Jesus loves you illegal under some public indecency law.

I keep thinking that it means Jesus loves me more then he loves the Magic Kingdom. I think either he's a really nice guy for loving me more then the MK even though we haven't met or maybe he just isn't a fan of the MK.

If it is legal to do then absolutely anyone can.....I still find it offensive and I am Christian. Not everyone is, nor needs to be Christian.

How a 'message of love' offends people I just cannot understand. It's a positive message and it has absolutely nothing negative, offensive or insulting in any way, shape or form! Don't agree with it? So what! Move on. I see MUCH more offensive stuff on a daily basis on billboards, TV, bumper stickers, etc.

God uses people to spread His message.The skywriter feels that he is doing what God is telling him to do.

I think I would laugh. I guess he would be trying to spread the word. Satan needs his minions, you know!

I really do think of it that way. I think anyone who performs an act simply because they are told to do so, or in this case, compelled to do so because the Bible says so, is being disengenuous and only doing it out of fear of reprisal, aka, sinning.

Up until recently, it used to really irk me to no end. Now I just give a little head shake and say a silent prayer that they didn't tick off too many people in the process. Talk about paying to disservice to God, eh? As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The God I pray to is an all knowing loving God who knows what is in our hearts and when we are being genuine. He also knows when someone is full of hooey.

I agree and I think it's sad that so many people think they're doing such a great thing by "spreading the Gospel" and what they're actually doing is pushing people AWAY from the very thing they want to draw them towards.

I still remember how one of the Sisters described service to God. "if I give you a piece of chocolate because I know you LOVE chocolate and I want to make you happy, isn't that better than my giving you the same chocolate because my Mother Superior told me I had to? Of course it is! An action done because we HAVE to is never as good as one we undertake because we WANT to. Obedience to God because we love God and we want to serve him by loving others is far better than obedience to God because He says so."

No one knows what is in another's heart. I wouldn't presume to know when you are doing something out of love and when you are full of, what did he say, hooey.

I think it's unfairly judgemental to call someone disingenuous about this kind of thing. We can only know our own hearts.

There is nothing offensive to you about that statement. That may not be true for everyone else. Not everyone wants to read that in more places and they probably would disagree that the world would be a better place if we saw a lot more of it. I may not think the billboards that you find so offensive are, so does that mean you should have to see them written in the sky?

I'm not telling anyone to take the billboards down, to stop wearing the shirts, to ban MTV or to take the bumper sticker off their car. Just because this particular phrase is in the sky doesn’t make a difference.
