I too think she is a bit ditzy, but it's definitely a product of her upbringing. Her parents don't seem all too sharp either. I will say she is way better than many of the "pop princesses" out right now (Britney and Mandy Moore come to mind ) but she doesn't have the vocal power of Christina.

I also don't blame her or Nick for grabbing a hold of every opportunity that comes along (TV, print ads, sitcoms, etc.). Fame is a fleeting thing and at least they do have some talent to speak of. They are not by any means the most untalented famous couple. I can name tons of those (Bennifer was one until they broke up, Paris Hilton and Nick Carter, Will Smith and Jada - at least he can rap but they are both horrible actors)

If they can laugh at themselves and not compromise their marriage by having cameras around then good for them.

I also like her. I like the fact that she doesn't take herself too seriously, and makes fun of herself ( Britney and Christina would never). I also agree that most celebs wouldn't show themselves just out of the shower. If I had an important event and I was suppossed to get my hair and my hairdresser wasn't there, you can bet I would be upset and Im not seen by millions of people.

IMO, there's nothing wrong with Mandy Moore . I much prefer her voice to Jessica Simpson's. Jessica Simpson does make some very strange faces when she's singing . I also think Mandy is much more attractive (not saying that that makes her a better person or anything, it's just that Jessica always gets SO much attention for her beauty).

My friend and i are big fans of Newlyweds and laughed our butts off when Jessica cried about her hair stylist being out of town when she really needed him.

Thought I was going to pull a muscle laughing at that one myself .

DH and I watch Newlyweds, (I watch it to see Nick- what a man!! ), and each time I ask him how it is possible to be sooo dumb. I do think in this case the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree. I just can't believe someone can live in La La Land and not know some of the things she doesn't know.

Our favorite part of the show is Nick, because he is such a regular midwestern guy. We laugh each time he cracks open a Miller Lite and watches sports, or when he reprimands her about her spending. DH's favorite is when he and his brother will attempt to do something by themselves (like move a video game) rather than hire someone to do it for them. He thinks that's cool that he A. wants to do it himself or B. is too cheap to hire someone!!

Mandy Moore is the best of the pop princesses if you ask me. She not only has a good voice, she actually CAN act, and in interviews she appears to have some semblance of a brain. Christina has the best voice, without a doubt, but she's so trampy, it kind of trumps all the good qualities. Britney is just weird now, and Jessica, well, let's just say, she's a diamond in the rough.

I like Jessica and I think that she and Nick make an adorable couple. For someone that isn't supposed to be "bright", she sure seems to have achieved success. Ok, maybe she isn't a "genius" or has "airhead" moments frequently, there are worse things in life.

I love the "Newlyweds" show. I think Jessica is really pretty with/without makeup. Yeah she is spoiled but then her parents raised her to their mealticket. imho.
did you see the xmas episode where they bought her a 90k mercedes. gee did they spend her money?
my pet peeve is the way the parents have a weird influence in her marriage/life. they are always around and seem to control things...like booking a gig on their anniversary.
she needs a better agent to make it to the next stage in her career too.
I hope they earn what they can and save it. Britney is worth over $50 million. Nick and Jessica are just scratching the surface of a couple million. I also feel sorry for Nick that he is always overshadowed. Did you know that they cut him out of their duet on her album. so how is it a duet? I guess his label wouldn't go for it. so he loses out on those sales.

DH and I too watch this show, I watch because it's funny and I drop my jaw atleast once a show at something that has been said or done. "I don't eat buffalo" in response to being offered a buffalo wing! I think to DH, this show is like a car accident, you don't really wanna look but you just have to be nosy as you drive by. Nick and Jessica make a cute couple and he seems very down to earth and "normal", I don't know what she would do without him. DH still is wondering how these two stay together. I think Jessica was very sheltered by her parents growing up, most things that people just know, she doesn't, it makes for good tv. I do like that she can be herself on tv, messy hair, no make-up, and gassy lol I think she is pretty with or without make-up and actually has a nice voice, same with Nick. *shrugs* It's entertainment.

I feel the same way. Its like a car accident you don't want to watch, but you just can't help yourself. When my DS who is 20 was home, I told him he had to watch this show with me. Well, he blew me off until one day I was watching it and he came in the room. He sat down with me and watched almost 2hours of it and then went to his gf where they watched even more. As a midwestern mom, Nick is very much like the kids I see around here (without the fame, money and famous wife) anyway!!

I agree-I watch the show every week, but I can't get over how whiny Jessica is. She complains every time she opens her mouth..I just don't know how Nick can put up with that!

I personally like Jessica Simpson. Yes, she may not seem very bright to us. But I as a person can I over look that. I look and see a person's heart. Also, she maybe spoiled, but who isn't? We are all spoiled in some form or fashion. Jessica just acts on her spoiledness. We all do too, we may not do it the way she does by acting like a baby. She's young, she has an adorable hubby, and from what I see they compliment each other. Nick finds his wife to be quite funny sometimes by the things she says. And so do I. I don't find anything she does outside of the norm. Sometimes I say things and wish I had not. I commend her on how far she has gotten, whether it's on her looks or pure talent. But then again who in Hollywood has not gotten far on their looks? I watch Newlyweds every week and find it quite entertaining. I think the woman can sing, I think she beautiful, and smart in her own little way. So with that I'm getting ready to go out and buy her CD so that I can listen to the girl!

I love watching the show and I'm happy they are finding success from it.

I think Jessica and Nick both can SING! I think Jessica can't sing as good as Christina, but she can definitely sing better than Brittney.

I think she has some good morals and Nick even said that was a turn on to him when they were dating.

I think she's spoiled and naive, but I think a lot of it is editing and an act. Editing goes a LONG way. Just ask any contestant from Survivor, The Apprentice, Big Brother. They've all said the editing is amazing in how it can portray you.

I think her being naive and spoiled is a result of her upbringing. Her parents. She's been singing and touring since she was 14. In seeing her mother and Jessica talk on Oprah, her mother spoiled her rotten from day one.

I think there must be something to her personality and she must have some brains for Nick to be with her? He's not stupid.

I think it's great when she doesn't have any make up on and lounges around in sweats. She's BEAUTIFUL when she's natural and it makes me sick!!! I wish I looked that good!

I think it's kind of hard to only judge them by this show.
