Jersey Week

Has anyone been at this time? If so, what were the crowds/queues like? Was it busy for an entire week or long weekend? Also, what was it like on Veterans' Day?

Sooooooooooooooo many questions. Apologies. I did search this question but the threads were from US perspectives rather than a Brit's point of view.

We were they for Jersey week last year. I didn't notice a difference but I found it overall more crowded than expected. Definitely nothing like when we've been the week after TG or early December which we found much less crowded. The waits averaged around 30-70mins for the main attractions. WDW overall was busy - the resorts we visited for meals were always bustling and we were told by the front desk that SSR was booked up. Also, the crowds during the evenings at EPCOT were large. We had a great trip and would go at that time again but we just found it busier than anticipated. Having said that, wherever we went offsite always seemed deathly quiet - it was clear to us that many of the people in the parks must have been staying onsite.

Thanks. I'm weighing up the option of going the week before half-term and paying a few hundred pounds more. It doesn't sound like Jersey Week is too much of a nightmare though.

Are you just doing disney or universal/seaworld aswell?

Maybe do disney week 1 and other parks week 2 when the disney crowds are heavier due to jersey week.

Is jersey week definitely the first week of November 2012? It's 7th november onwards this year.

We will (potentially) be there from 29th Oct until 12th November. Jersey Week will be the week beginning Nov 3rd next year. As it's our first time, we only planned to do Disney as we wanted to take it easy and have some rest days.

we've been there a couple of times during Jersey week. The weekend of halloween and jersey week are noticeably busier than earlier in October but nothing like busier seaasons (we were there one Feb for Presidents week and that was much busier and others say that is quieter than Easter etc.)
The main difference we have found (and please don't flame me if you are from there) is generally the visitors are louder and more stereotypically American, thinking nothing apparently of pushing in front of kids during parades or sitting their kids on every seat of the transport and watching other adults stand.
Nothing major but not the cameraderie (sp?) we are used to from Americans during our usual trips.

It's funny because we heard about what chocolateMinnie is referencing but never actually saw anything like that. It was just a normal, fairly busy week in the parks.

I think I went to MK on Veterans Day this year. I didn't think it was really really crowded. I usually gauge crowds by whether I go on Peter Pan (if it's crowded the queue is long and I don't bother) but we definitely went on it this year

An advantage for going at that time of year is that the Christmas Party starts around that time so you get to see the Magic Kingdom decorated and the lights on the castle

Thanks. Halloween really appeals to me and it's the time of year we have always wanted to go...we just don't do crowds.
