I just had to change my vacation from early December to NOv. 3-15, I was thinking it would be a relatively quite time at WDW. What is Jersey week, and is it in November?? I know the food and wine thing is on , but I thought that was it! Please fill me in. Many mahalos.

Yup! It will be crowded........Jersey week falls this year I believe the first week of November and it is a time when alot of the schools in New Jersey have a vacation. They close for teachers conventions and things Alot of Jerseyites head to WDW!! I have been there at the tail end of the week in the past and it was REAL crowded........then again not Peak season crowded BUT crowded non the less! Last year we went the first week of December and it was great! I'm sorry you had to switch from this time........being there during the holidays was spectacular!!

Look at it as a great chance to cultivate your accent... I grew up in NJ and I am always amazed at how many people at WDW seem to be from NY and NJ. I always make friends at the pools and in lines because I hear those unmistakeable Jersey vowels... I think they ought to just make NJ residents "honorary Florida residents!"

Not only will you hit "Jersey week", but you will probably hit Soap Opera Weekend! Maybe you should Fogitabout it! Sorry, my Jersey accent slipped out!LOL

My friend went last Nov. during Jersey week and she said it wasn't that bad. I don't know what people compare it to, so I guess it's hard to guage what "crowded" means to some people.

As I told another poster, don't worry, our Mommies raised us with manners. We generally don't bite or spit on people but we have been know to push someone out of the way if they get between us and Mickey:p

The first Thursday and Friday in November are always NJ Teacher Conventions. But I think more teachers go to Disney than to the convention! Last year we went over Teacher Conventions, and it was much more crowded than we like. We won't go at that time again. It was absolutly do-able, but just more crowded than we are used to. A lot of schools in NJ have that entire week end off because of Veteran's Day, which is the following week. Or sometimes school have off for Election Day along with Teacher's Conventions. So all in all, those 2 weeks can be very crowded.

Thanks to all for the replies,
at least I know to expect it to be a bit busy , I wasn't familiar with Jersey week, but I will know it well by the time my vacation ends!! this is abig trip for us coming all the way from Hawaii, and I am sure it will be a great fun!!

Lizmc, I met a nice family from Hawaii this Spring at WDW. We watched the MK fireworks together. I am always amazed at how far people come to see Mickey. Have you done Disneyland yet? I want to go when my children are older.

In 2001, we were at wdw from 11/7-11/20. We didn't think it was crowded, but it wasn't empty either.
