In some cases if you are willing to connect you can get a cheaper flight. A few years ago the flights for Jersey week on Continetial were around $700 for a direct flight.
I connected in Cleveland and each ticket was $216.
Geez, Louise!! I am still amazed the number of people concerned with all of us New Jersey people. Really, we're just taking advantage of a favorable school calender. We don't bite and like everyone else we don't think Gov. Christie is funny either. As for air fare, EWR is price prohibative. If an early morning flight is possible consider Baltimore. Have done it 3 times.
There is a Sheraton at BWI that includes parking for up to 2 weeks. Drive down night before dinner there (and drink)Let kids go indoor pool. Up early free shuttle, Touch down MCO before 10am. Car service pick up, quick stop for grocery, checkin Mouse House, sitting at pool before noon. Not bad for first week in November.
