"Jumping from a moving ride" would have the biggest impact on me if I was on the ride or in line for it, as it would result in the ride being shut down for an undetermined amount of time. So my vote for "jerky jerk" would go to this person.

This topic has set my mind racing.

A few weeks ago, my DGF and I were at ropedrop for the Magic Kingdom. The train came...and there is no nice of way of putting this, we were stuck with Mickey and a bunch of third string characters. Even the mayor of Main Street did not show up. We got the fire marshal. We got Mickey of course. And the White Rabbit. And Dale from the future but no Chip. Stitch was there. So was the raccoon from Pocahontas and a young woman who, I think, was supposed to be Wendy from Peter Pan. So the crowd starts booing. It was awful. The ropedrop show is an extra bonus to your day--and since you don't see Ariel or Donald, you start booing? Jerks.

Then there are guests who are simply wrong when they lash out at CMs. I once was on Splash Mountain behind an English family. We exit the ride together and the mother from England rips a poor cast member for the content. Apparently her children are now corrupted by hearing the creatures sing "pretty good show us your bum" to them.

Except that's not what they are singing. They are singing "pretty good sure as you're born." I wanted to say to the lady, this is from "Song of the South." The South. It ranges from roughly the Chesapeake to somewhere in east Texas, from parts of Kentucky down to just north of I-4. The South in "Song of the South" is not Suffolk and the Isle of Wight. The critters are not demanding guests show them their rear end--and had the woman thought about it, she may have realized that Br'er Rabbit and company are not exactly English. If Mr. Toad or Mary Poppins demanded guests show him or her their bum, the mother would have a point. But that's not what happened--and she should have realized that before yelling at a cast member. Jerk.

This post earns my vote for best ever.
"The Isle of Wight"...awesome reference!:joker:

BTW, SM is my fave ride at WDW!!!!

Having been a CM who was treated poorly and rude by angry guests (angry for things beyond my control-- beyond the control of anyone, sometimes) I have to say that being mean to CMs is pretty jerky. I got yelled at for anything from being out of stock of a t-shirt someone wanted, to a line for someone's favorite ride or character, to the weather being poor. I didn't even work in the parks! I worked at DTD!

People who treat any employee of a place like WDW, a retail store, etc nasty for no reason are just plain rude. My husband and I both are retail managers and get treated like poop all the time for no reason, mainly because everyone thinks people who work in retail make minimum wage and therefore deserve disrespect, which is untrue and stupid.

I am always nice to CMs and get beautiful treatment and memories in return. Life is so much nicer when one has a positive attitude and treats people kindly.

I voted for yelling at CM's. The rest of the options are just inconviences to me but yelling at a CM is unacceptable. It's crazy how many grown adults cannot act like adults and handle situations properly. The jerkiest thing that's ever happened to me personally was when we were trying to get out of MK after Wishes :crazy2: Obviously it was a bad idea but we were tired and cold and just wanted to leave. There was a huge bottleneck of people by Crystal Palace and there were a couple of CM's there trying to get everybody into an orderly single file line. We didn't know it but they were also tryiing to get people with ECV's out alongside the single file line. There was one man in an ECV who was trying to get by beside us and we hadn't noticed him because we were so busy looking ahead trying to see what the hold up of the line was. So he decided it was a good idea to repeatedly smash him ECV into my DH's foot until he moved it. I was really shocked and of course my DH moved his foot and apologized but the man angrily just drove off before we could get over our shock. What's wrong with just saying excuse me? I fail to see how driving into people to get them to move is an appropriate response.

yelling at CMs is super annoying to me.
CMs have to be some of the most patient and kind people i have ever seen. they put up with a lot and probably don't get paid enough lol they are so personable and willing to help. they don't deserve to be yelled at. :flower3:

One person holding a spot in line for 10 other people. It happened to me last time on Space mountain. The group jumped out of line and walked all the way to the front to meet their friend. Another thing that annoys me are parents who allow their kids to squirt their misting bottles everywhere. These 2 little brats decided it was funny to spray my daughter in the face. I yelled at the parents to control their kids since everyone in line was being sprayed.

I voted for jumping off of a moving ride strictly based on the scale of their impact.

Line cutting is obnoxious, but I never really have dealt with it much at all, so it isn't that big of a deal to me. Plus, it has very little affect on anyone besides making the people behind them wait an extra 30 seconds.

I'm from the south, so anytime a woman or child is standing, I am used to a man giving up his seat. Unfortunately, in much of the country, chivalry is completely dead and I am aware of that. Most people weren't raised to show respect in that specific way and I don't fault them for it. Yes, they should give their seat to the disabled, but they don't. In that situation, though, they are only impacting that one disabled person.

When I was a CM, I got yelled at from time to time. People got mad that Mickey couldn't come out when it was pouring down rain, that Tower of Terror wouldn't run in the middle of a lightening storm, that it wasn't right that we moved the tea cups from being in front of the big blue hat to the Magic Kingdom (:confused3), to the lines being too long during SWW. I never really let those sour my day and it was really just me that they were impacting.

Flash photography on a dark ride is annoying, but I figure that many people honestly don't even realize how it can blind other people. I honestly think that if they realized that they were hurting other people's eyes, they wouldn't do it. And, as far as the impact goes, it really only affects those on the ride with them in their specific boat/car/etc.

Abusing the refillable mug is an obnoxious entitlement thing, but I don't think it is really in the same category as some of the other things listed. And who does it really affect?

Pool hopping is in the same category as the refillable mug abuse situation, in my opinion.

Carrying Your ECV Onto A Bus While 20 Of Your Family Members Climb On The Bus Behind You is an interesting one for me. Many people opt to get the ECV rather than a wheelchair because they do not want to be a burden to their family by having to be pushed around. While many people who rent these types of things might not look disabled, they would be unable to walk around the park all day. They do need the assistance of a wheelchair or ECV to get around for extended periods, but can carry one onto a bus. Doesn't bother me. Also, it really doesn't affect anyone.

Photo bombing falls into the same category as the flash photography situation, for me. It's dumb and silly, but most people think that they are just being funny. My mom was trying to take a picture of my sister and me at Mama Melrose and the man in the booth behind us would always strike a funny pose whenever she went to take the photo. It was silly and still gives us a laugh when we look at the photo. I'm not a photo bomber, but I do try to believe that the people who are doing it really mean no harm and aren't fully thinking about the consequences and the fact that some people are very insistent that they have a pure photo with only their family in it. In this situation, the only people affected are those wanting a photo.

As far as asking a CM where to meet Harry Potter, that's just ignorance and I try to be patient with ignorance. They just got confused between WDW and Universal. It happens and isn't worth raising my blood pressure over. No impact on anyone, really.

Jumping from a ride is a completely different situation. Everyone knows not to do this. Even if it wasn't posted multiple times while in line, as well as said prior to starting each ride, common sense would dictate you not do this. But, some jackwagon still does this which stops the entire ride. This impacts everyone currently on the ride, as well as everyone in line. This extends to the fast pass line and even to those with a later fast pass. Then, you have the extreme situations like the one earlier this summer on Soarin' where it shut down the ride all day, as well as the ride at Disneyland. Much larger impact, so it is the worst thing a guest can do, in my very humble opinion.

Here's some video of a shockingly jerky family.
There is part #1 and part #2 of a family on IASW throwing coins at the audioanimatronic children.
In the second part, the kids really get into flinging the coins as hard as possible, while the adults watch.
Seriously? :scratchin

Part #1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJpUsW7h6Fw

Part #2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAk64j8C4dA&feature=relmfu

I believe about 26 seconds of part 1 the mother encourages it by directing the child at a target.... So lucky I wasn't in the seat behind them...

Alright, forgive the newbie, but what exactly is photobombing? :confused3

I've been to Disney a lot, I don't see much line-cutting, but people shoving for shows and parades was rampant. I don't like conflict much, but I'll stand my ground most of the time.

Also, at one point, I got run down by a woman with a stroller because I was standing in her path taking a photo (not intentionally in her way) and she decided ramming me was an acceptable way to get my attention. While I was stumbling she shoved past me and crushed my feet under her wheels :furious:

Unfortunately, even in the happiest place on Earth, people... are still people!

The people who yell at CMs obviously have never worked retail or in customer service in their life. That, IMO, is the jerkiest thing and the actual reason why I haven't run off to work in the World.

I am always super nice to CMs because I work in customer service so I know how it feels to be treated like poop.

Flash photography also bugs me. I may "accidentally" stick my foot out for line cutters. And thankfully have never experienced ride delays due to some funny person who thought it would be brilliant to jump from a ride, although id imagine that be pretty annoying!

Alright, forgive the newbie, but what exactly is photobombing? :confused3

It would be like me jumping into the background of your family photo in front of the castle drawing attention to myself and becoming the focus of your picture, more than likely ruining it. "Daddy, who's that jerk with his tongue out behind you?"

How about the "stroller commando parents" who use their kids in a stroller as a tool to push violently through crowds, clipping people at will? I'll never understand what possesses these people to use their children as weapons! :scared: My 72 yo mother was clipped by strollers twice on our last trip!

Yeah, stroller commandos - certainly gotten a few write-in votes.

When my son was 1 1/2 he was crying on the bus. At that time, he was still nursing to sleep at nap time, which it was but I was tightly crammed between a post and a boy who was maybe about 11- so I was too embarrassed to feed him there. Pretty much the entire bus started up a conversation about how we were terrible parents for letting our child cry on the bus. I was talking to him, doing all the standard fidget, "shhh", try to comfort a kid short of nursing him I could do.

The biggest jerks were the family sitting by DH at the front of the bus, loudly proclaiming to their kids that they never cried in public as babies because they were too good of parents to allow that.
I get it was annoying, but seriously?!? I was crying by the time we got off the bus I was so upset and these people just kept going, insulting me openly as if I wasn't there.

My biggest jerks at the patrons who somehow truly believe they are better than anybody else.

Their attitude is beyond jerky and is inexcusable. On my last trip the same thing happened on a ride back to the Beach Club in the afternoon. Mom was taking her toddler back to the hotel for a rest, and he was just having a meltdown. I felt bad... I've been there, done that with my own kids. Of course there was some guy in his 50's or so who was commenting on just how awful the Mom was, and if he was the child's parent he could just magically prevent the meltdown in the first place because of his superior parenting skills. Obviously the mom tried her best to time the rest/nap and get out of the parks, but the child just became overtired sooner than expected. It's beyond me how some adults, particularly those who have had children of their own would insult a Mom or Dad in that situation.

This isnt Really jerky but it is line cutting. On my last trip 2 years ago i was waiting in line for RnR. It was midday so it was hot and busy. while standing in the outside part of the queue a man came up and tapped me on the shoulder. He asked me if he could meet his daughter who was further up in the queue. Before i had time to answer he pushed right thru. i didnt get angry i just excepted that some people just have to do that. I never found out if his daughter was further up in the queue.:confused3:confused:
