Jennifer & Charley's 9/15/11 SBP/The Attic 12/9 Feat DisneyWeddingPodcast!

Duh!! I went to pick up my dress today... and it fits perfect!! :yay: Just have to get a new bra. The 1 I bought has boning in it. It looked fine when the dress was too big... :lmao: Now you can definitely see the lines through the dress. And that sucks something major!! But the dress fits, so that's all that matters! The lady did a fabulous job. It only took her a couple of weeks. She said she wasn't going to have it done until the 10th. I'm glad she got done early though. I was starting to really freak out about not having a dress!! She charged me $150. I had to have the bodice taken in around an inch or so on each side, and she had to hem the front a couple of inches. I'm only 4'10.5" (That .5" really makes a difference :rotfl2: ) And my shoes have a 3" heel. I thought it would look like a lot of dress, but it doesn't!! I can't wait to wear it!!!! :lovestruc

Jackie, I will def try to get a pic uploaded for you. All we had was my mom's phone. Of course I forgot my camera at home!

Hello all!! :goodvibes

Well, we only have 9 more days until we leave for Orlando!!  We're so excited, it's ridiculous.

I've sent and received confirmation emails from all of our vendors! So, that's a plus. I made an appt for steaming with Carolyn Allen's. I really didn't want to spend the money on this. Mainly because the bridal shop I bought the dress from will do free steaming. I think it will be kind of pointless if we're just going to put it back into the garment bag. :confused3 Let me know if I'm wrong here.

We've finalized our BEO and paid the balance! :thumbsup2 :yay:

We made a little Disney movie trivia quiz for the tables at the reception. 2 hrs is a long time to sit around eating IMO. Especially with our families!! :rotfl: We're going to get some prizes when we go shopping at Downtown Disney the day before the wedding.

I've got to figure out something to do with my nails!! I still haven't made an appt for that. I'd really like to get something done before we leave to go down, but I want it to be something that will last. Any suggestions? I never go to the nail salon, so I have no idea what my options are. I know I don't want any kind of fake nails. Mine are long enough by themselves.

Also, here are some pics of the dresses I got when I took my 1st bridal gown back. Of course they would only allow an in store credit... so here's some of what that included...

Please excuse the crappy pics. The DF likes to take them at the worst moment.. in the middle of talking, or moving... you get my point!! Only thing is, I don't have a clue where I'll be wearing any of these to while we're down there. We don't have any reservations at any signature restaurants. So, I don't know. I'm taking them anyway. I think I'm going to save the green one for October when we go back down for Universal Halloween. We want to eat at Emeril's or somewhere else at City Walk.

Oh BTW... I did our online check in this morning. Hopefully it will make everything easy breezy when we arrive!! :goodvibes

how exciting! :banana::banana:

I love the dresses they're all beautiful.

As for nails I have no idea, I bite mine so I have no choice but to have fake ones xx

Thanks!!

So I just checked the extended forecast, and of course it says rainy on the wedding day!! :scared1: :sad2: Please let this just be afternoon showers.

So exciting! As for steaming your dress, I made my appt at the last minute and I'm glad I did. They came to the room where we were getting dressed and steamed it about 2 hours before I put it on! And for your nails, they have this kind of paint called Shellac (not sure if that's the right spelling). It's like a regular paint but lasts for 14 days. I was going to get that but since I got married right after we had post-planning at school, I broke all my nails and had to get fake ones. but the Shellac would be a great option, I think.

Thanks!! I read something about that online last night. I guess I should call around and find out if anyone around here has it.

Jennifer, you must be losing your mind by now! I can't wait :)

And I agree... I also really don't want to spend the money on steaming. But I'm going to. Blerggghhhhh. (although, I'm having my grammy drop the dress off for me... maybe she'll pay for it? maybe? :lmao:)

I also love the idea of disney trivia! I would steal it if anyone else in my family besides my grandparents actually liked Disney! Alas. Make sure you check out that cheapie store in DTD; a lot of times you can get random things for, like, 3 or 4 for $10!

And I LOVE that third dress. It's SO pretty. You'll figure out somewhere to wear them. Wear them to the parks and take pictures with princesses!!

Jennifer, I am so excited for you! It will be here in no time!

As far as the price of the steaming, I am with you...I don't want to spend the money either, but I know it'll be worth it to look fresh and wrinkle-free!

I had my dress alterations last weekend, and she is charging me $300! Yikes! $125 to hem the bottom (lots of delicate lace), $100 to take it in a bit on the sides (I have apparently dropped a couple of pounds...go me!), and $75 for the bustle. I almost DIED when she handed me the bill!!!!

And don't worry about the weather yet. The forecast will probably change at the last minute!!! Sending you some pixie dust just in case! pixiedust:

Jennifer sweetie - Not long to wait now!!! Loving all the dresses!!!

I think I'm slowly going crazy. I'm so impatient, I can't stand it!!

I don't want to spend the money, but the dress needs it for sure. Some of the "lines" on the front need to be straightened out. Hopefully they can work with that. I told them in the email I sent though. Hopefully your Grammy will pay!! :thumbsup2 Mine's going to be $85 plus $20 for the gigantic slip!! I'm also going to try the dress on 1 day this week.. so I will def get pics for you. I want to make a final decision on wearing the slip.

Our trivia game is only 10 questions about Disney movies. They're pretty simple if you watch the movies. We just thought it would be something to do while everyone is eating. I know the buffet is open for 1.5 hrs, but they will still get restless!! I will def check out that store for the gifts. That sounds perfect!!

I really like the 3rd dress too!! :goodvibes It's really slinky though... not normally my type of dress.. but I've lost a pretty good bit of midsection, so I don't mind wearing it. I'm pretty sure I will be wearing 1 to play mini golf in the night of the wedding. Our reception is over at 2pm. Nobody wants to spend the money to go to the park for part of a day, so that's what we're doing. Playing mini golf!! We'll just rest after the wedding for a while, then get ready to go. Since the hair and make-up will still be done, why not wear 1 of the cute dresses?!?! :lmao:

Time is flying by and has been for months now!!

I would much rather pay for the steaming than look like I just went for a roll in the hay!! :rotfl:

I think I would've lost it for $300!!! :headache: That's crazy! But :woohoo: for the weight loss!!

I'm trying to be all "whatever it will be, it will be"... but I don't want it to be what I don't want it to be. Ya know?! :confused3 :rotfl2: I want to get married outside and have pics outside... and not get rained out for our MK/Epcot pics that morning.. It's just a multitude of things that the weather will interrupt!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: So I give myself some pixie dust.. and take your offerings as well!! :thumbsup2

Jennifer sweetie - Not long to wait now!!! Loving all the dresses!!!

No Joanne!! It's almost here. My SIL asked me today was I nervous. I said not scared nervous, excited nervous!! I can't wait!! :goodvibes :cloud9:

His tux is in shipping status. It should arrive on 9/11. So, it's official, we're leaving Tues. :thumbsup2

Hopefully the boss lady will let me off at lunch, so we can head on out. It takes us about 3-4 hrs depending on traffic. We want to go ahead and get to the outlet mall ASAP and get the shopping over with. We'll stay at some random hotel down that way. Then we'll just get up Wed morning and head on over to Disney and check-in!! :cool1: I'm so ready to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I'm so freaking excited too!!!!!!! haha I feel like 1 big ball of energy.. like there's so much I should be doing, and nothing really to do!

But seriously though... the weather is killing me. I am hoping and praying this new storm Maria dies out before we it reaches FL or it turns back the other way!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: I kid you not.. I don't care if it rains the whole time we're there.. as long as it doesn't rain until after the ceremony is over with!!

You are so close!!! I am so excited for you guys :goodvibes :cheer2: :yay:

Thank you!! We are very excited as well. It gets hard to contain it all once it gets this close, I think!! :rotfl:  :yay:

Thanks! I was reading a PJ the other day, and they said they borrowed 1 from the resort to steam their own. I was like NO way, I will so F this up!! :rotfl2: Might as well fork it out and be done with it.

So close!!!! I can't wait to hear how perfect everything turns out!!!

I hope everything is perfect! Weather and all!! But as long as we're both there, that's really all that matters... we would just prefer to both be there with no rain!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

I really can't believe it. It seems like I just called to book our wedding, and here we are 1 week out!! It's crazy how time flies. We are so ready to go. Everything has been worked out with jewelry. The tux is in. We're going Sat to try it on and hopefully bring it home with us then. I have to take my ta-dow pushup back to VS and exchange it for a different size. Still figure out what I'm going to do about my nails!! I just don't want them to get messed up at work Mon or Tues, if I get them done this weekend. But then I don't want to worry about it while we're down there. :confused3 Oh well, I'll figure it out. I need to get my eyebrows waxed. I've waited entirely too long. I'm seriously afraid they're going to screw them up, and I'm not going to have eyebrows in my pics!!!! :scared1: :lmao: But it's really not funny... but then it is. I guess I'll just get the make-up people to draw them on if that happens!!!

Some stuff has been added in there. I just copy and pasted this over. We're going to play mini golf, like I said in an earlier post, the night of the wedding.. and just hang out with the younger fam members. We didn't put in the breaks during the day. Just in general guideline of what we'll be doing. This helped me keep up a little bit with us eating!!!

So exciting:yay: We are actually going to overlap. DF and I get to Disney on Wed. 9/21 and are getting married on Saturday 9/24  You've got a great vacation planned! I've chosen to think good thoughts and ignore the fact that it has rained every day here in South Florida for weeks. We are both going to have beautiful weather (or like you said - at least for the ceremony and pictures...). Congratulations!

ONE WEEK!!!!!!!!!! And your itinerary looks fabulous! You're eating at some of my favorite restaurants. :D Please tell Eeyore at the Crystal Palace that I say hi and I miss him. Also, do a dining review! Please?!
