I just found your PJ and have read it all -- I know what you mean about there not being a lot of info about Escape weddings out there, so I can't wait to see what happens next with yours (the wedding. . . I'm not hoping any other health or family excitement for you!).

I think it is really disappointing that your DF's parents aren't going to attend the wedding, but I'm glad that he has some family who are making the extra effort to attend. Sometimes people really surprise you with their kindness when you are at a low point, and they came through. I hope all goes well.

you're soooooooo close!!! you'll have to tell us how mandara is!! i booked a couple things for me while he's on his wild africa trek when i changed my ticker and it said months instead of a year i was like when it changes to weeks i'm going to be like

i can't even talk about when it changes to days, lol.

I really can't believe how close we are. It's just crazy to me!! I can only imagine when the ticker says days. I will def be a basket case and need my little blue pills!!

I completely understand what you're saying about going from year to month. When we booked at the end of Jan, we picked 4-21-12 as our date. About a month or so later, we decided to move it up. I am VERY impatient and couldn't stand the wait. We also didn't pay attention to the fact that rooms were a lot more during that time than during September. So, I'm glad we changed it.

And I will def let everyone know how the Mandara is.

I'm very disappointed in my DF's parents too... but oh well!! We're over it. He's glad that we finally have an answer, and we don't have to worry about it anymore. His aunts are really pulling through for us, and I couldn't be more happy. They are 2 of the sweetest women I've ever met. But I know it's really making the DF's mom mad that they will be the ones taking her place... but that's her fault!!!

Ok. It's official.. I'm losing it!!

I forgot to post on here... but we finally found my Mom a dress yesterday. She bought it at JC Penny's. It's black and really cute. Me and the DF liked it a lot. She thinks it's a little too dressy for a morning wedding. The DF told her she's the mom, she's supposed to be dressy! lol

Anyway... while she was trying on dresses, me and the DF were sitting in the little waiting area in the dressing rooms watching CNN.. getting informed and all!! I sat my purse on a little table and started talking to my DF. Well my mom called me in there to check out the dress. I just got up and walked in there to look at it.. then proceeded to call the DF to come see it. We both liked it. We got her dress and left. Weeeellll... we drove home, which is about 45 mins away, and this was after we went to eat Mexican (which tasted like ***), got home and parked the car. I went to grab my purse from the floor... but there was NO PURSE!!! Yes.. I left it in the dressing room at the mall. I was freakin out!! I called them and lucky for me, someone had turned it in. We drove 45 mins back, with the DF giving me the evil eye the whole time , and got my purse. Thank the Lord nothing was missing.

Just now, I'm checking my email, which I've been doing constantly all week. I've been waiting on our floral proposal, which Tanis said Rosie was almost done with. This was the end of last week she said this. So I've been waiting and waiting.. well guess what.. the damn email has been there since Monday. I've been checking my email on my phone, and I guess I didn't go through them good enough. Luckily I don't delete them, I just look through.

But anyway, we were pretty much right on with our estimates of everything. Our centerpieces we picked out for the reception are only $35, so that's awesome. They're really simple, but I was thinking Disney... really high probably... but no. So it's all good!!!

Thanks for reading along. I felt the same way when I first started planning our Disney wedding. There's not very many Escape journals in here. I guess because there really isn't a whole lot planning that has to be done... unless you like a lot of DIY stuff. Personally, I'm not that creative!!

I hope my PJ helps you with your planning. Can't wait to read all about yours. I've read through what you've posted so far!!

I am unbelievable tired. We've been working at least 50 hrs a week since Jan, saving for the wedding. It's really starting to wear us thin. I can def say without a doubt, we are sure as hell going to enjoy the time off from work!! My purse is just a serious problem, and it's just ridiculous!! I just can't help it. I'm like that with everything though. My DF had his own experience this morning trying to find his shoes. Now he knows how I feel!

I posted our centerpieces, I think. But whatever.. here it is again.

Ours will have yellow mini calla lilies, with black marbles in the bottom of the vases. We won't have the little shot glasses or whatever that is though. We will have black Mickey confetti on the tables also.

Just got the phone call a little while ago... my dress is done with alterations!! (I hope) We're going tomorrow for a fitting and hopefully *fingers crossed* it fits!!!

So if it fits; and the DF's comes in on time, and it fits.. Then we'll get to leave out Tuesday instead of Wednesday!!

Also, I forgot to post about this... the DF's mom came up to where we work the other day. (We work at the same place, just different buildings) Anyway, she'd received a check in the mail from Social Security or something about back-money she was owed. Now, money is the reason she had to cancel on us in the first place. Which is a way long story, because she has major problems with blowing money on useless stuff. (like money for Farmtown ) Whatever!! BUT.. of course I'm sure you can guess what she wanted to know... She actually had the nerve to ask if they could come to the wedding again. After everything we have been telling everyone about the limited amount of guests, and she wants to ask him that?! He already felt bad enough that she cancelled on him to begin with.. not to mention the fact that she did it the day before his birthday!! He told her he was sorry, but she still couldn't come. We already had people taking the place of her, his dad, and his little sister. He told her it wasn't fair for him to tell the other 3 people that they could no longer come, because she finally had the money to be able to go. Needless to say, she wasn't very happy about the situation. So she handed him $200 and said that was for us. He told her to keep it; they needed it more than we did. She said that they had already set money aside for the trip, so she was giving us that. Well, I really appreciate that... but then his brother called and told us that she got quite a bit of money back. Not that it matters to us. We NEVER ask family or anyone for that matter, to borrow money... I'd rather do without!! But anyway.. he told us she spent almost $200 buying their other brother's kid this crazy expensive stroller. ***??? She always gives them money!! They have 3 kids (1 of which is completely disabled) under the age of 2, and neither one of them work!! I understand at least 1 of them needs to be at home with the kids, but the other 1 could work!! (their income comes from the checks they receive because of the disabled child) They don't even have their kids half the time. They pawn them off on everyone else. And this is DF's brother that wasn't invited to the wedding because of drama with their mom. And to top that all off, the brother and his gf got engaged not too long ago.. guess who they asked to be in their wedding??? Me and the DF!! I barely know this girl!!! And I don't even like her, and she knows it!!! Crazy!! There's noway I would ask someone to be in my wedding if they didn't even invite me to their wedding.... oh Lordy!! People drive me crazy

Not to mention we have inventory at work this!! Gah! I don't understand why they couldn't do it while we're gone for the wedding and honeymoon. And I work in receiving and the stockroom... so that's going to be just lovely.

Let's just pray the dress fits right, or I could really start turning into a major Bridezilla!!

Ahhh another thing (there's ALWAYS drama in our families) my older sister called yesterday. This is the one that up until 2 weeks ago, had her room and everything booked. Her bf got sick so she cancelled all of that. NOW she's found out she's pregnant!!! This is her 4th child! She's about 2 months now. Well, now she's trying to book again... but the resort where she was booked (and is also where everyone who has booked is staying) is all full now!! And she called me, to tell me about it. Like... I told everyone 8 months ago to book their rooms ASAP. Disney books up fast sometimes. Does anyone listen??? Not really! So she calls my brother to let him know.. because of course he hasn't booked yet either. But his wife doesn't know this.. WHY?? Because he told her he already booked it!!! I'm going to go crazy on these people. If I get caught up in the middle of their BS lies, I'm seriously going to go the freak off!!! And to top it all off, he says they're driving down the day of the wedding, then staying Thurs and Fri night. He's never drove down there by himself. They've followed us every time. So of course the DF is freakin out that they're going to be late. I told my brother if they were going to drive down, they had to leave their house a little after midnight. That way if they get lost, someone can come find them!!!!

Sorry for the rant, and the total run-on paragraphs!!

It sounds like you've done everything but make the reservations and transportation arrangements (and paid for them) for these people and they are expecting you to do it for them. You've put a lot of time and effort into planning this wedding and it stinks that they haven't been able to take advantage of your having done all that work. I hope they can get it together and make their own arrangements, but the bottom line is it isn't on your shoulders and they shouldn't put the burden on you. You have just over two weeks to go until the big day, try to hang in there!

Ughhhh weddings just bring out the WORST in people, don't they?!?!? I've been having similarish issues with some family members. (None of Chris's family have booked yet!) Just try not to let it get to you, sweetie--- you are SO close to your wedding day, and it's going to be AMAZINGLY AMAZING!

Thank you!! I feel like I've done everything I can to prepare everyone. It's not my fault that they don't pay attention! If they don't get down there for the ceremony because of their stupidity, then they can give me the money I spent on each one of them!!! But all will be ok. We bought the folders from Wal-Mart. They were around $1 a piece. Not bad for us. We only have 18 guests and most of those are families that can be grouped together, so we had to buy 10. Glad you like them! We thought they were very cute and fit everything just perfect. We went to just get regular folders, but then my DF saw these.
