Jennifer and Luke's PJ/TR NY/WDW HM 6/6/2010,Wedding photos up! 12/08

hey all. I thought i'd post this. so far this morning has been very successful with photography searching. I have come to terms with we will probably spend $100-250 more than expected. but at this point i'd rather get what I want. Here are some photographers I am looking at

This photographer already emailed me back. He offered me a 2 hour session at any location we choose...and then an extra 1-2 hours at a fun location he has wanted to shoot at. (this is a special offer for us apparently) he said we would get 175-325 photos! sounds good to ME!

i have moved from panic....so kind of excited to wear my dress again and have tons of photos taken! I need to figure out what to buy for makeup. I am not going to use another makeup artist or hairstylist. soooo I need to figure out how to do it myself!! I think i might call the makeup artist and see what she did on the day.

I would love your opinions so please give them!

Oh Jenn that is awesome! I am glad that you found some photographers that you like. They all have beautiful pictures. Let us know who you go with.

Jennifer

Exciting - I would go with the offer from the photographer who wants to shoot at the fun location - it sounds like a good deal and they may be really motivated and you would get some great shots using the fun location they have wanted to use for a while.

I would recomend MAC makeup. Why don't you book a consultation with them at a MAC store or in a department store. The consultations are free and they can teach you how to put on the make up if needed and answer your questions. If you have time you could also do this the day of the photo shoot :thumbsup2

Yeah.....i want to hear back from the other 2 photographers.....but the offers sounds awesome. he is probably trying to build up his portfolio.....but i'm okay with getting free extra photos to help him out!

Its totally free? that is an awesome idea. do you get to say what you want? or do they just play? this sounds like a great plan! (i love free..) if i can find one near me i will do it on the day. so i don't have to spend money or worrying it will look bad!

i also need to play with my hair to see how it will work for the photos. I cut it recently before i knew the photos were bad!

Brit Jude is right. MAC is great if you want your makeup to stay on. My GF is a makeup artist and I know she uses that (along with her own line she is in process of distributing). Also, I know around here if you go to a MAC counter, they will do your makeup as long as you buy just one thing( I did it for a wedding DH was in). Not sure if they do that up by you but it is worth a shot to go the day of the photoshoot, get your makeup done by them and just buy the lipstick or something.

The consultations are free and you can tell them the type of look you want to have them help you create - you are expected to purchase at least a few of the items they use on you but you don't have to go mad.

thank you so much both of you! I am going to look into it. i hope all of the mac's do it! then its one less thing i need to worry about!

That is so good to hear! Seriously, you have such an amazing attitude towards everything. Your pictures that you have posted are beautiful and do capture your day, but now you will be able to just get more to complete them. I am really happy that this is working out for you! Let us know how it all goes!

I'm all caught up! I'm so sorry about your pics, but I am 100% behind the Mac makeup suggestion! I had my wedding day makeup done by a Mac artist, and he was fabulous! I had done a consult with him for my rehearsal and then we tweaked it for the wedding day and it was perfect! I hope your re-shoots go well, and I think you should take the offer from the photog. who wants to do a fun location. That sounds like a person who is enthusiastic about his work, and that always leads to better results! Good luck! :goodvibes

Thanks hun! I am trying to stay positive because thats all I can do....and getting upset isn't going to fix anything. The huge problem with the photos we are really are the lack of pictures of me and DH that I have a problem with. (its not like it was our wedding or anything :laughing:) so this shoot will fix that. There are a lot of things we can't fix but at least we can fix that. I will def keep you guys in the loop. We need to choose a photographer then I want to chat with them about the problems we had, show them our engagement photos which we love and give him a small list of must have shots.

thanks hun! Do you make an appointment? how does it work? or do i just show up and hope they can take me? Do all mac stores usually do it? Yeah I want to wait for the other two to answer me to see what they say but I am very excited about the first offer!!

Okay so lets pick this up where I left off. We originally were planning on going to a park to take pictures...well we didn't think we would have a lot of time so we choose not to so we just did photos around the house.

My BMs went into the limo and were off. so we could do some more pictures at the house
DSC_4488.jpg

this is one of the only photos of me, my mom and my grandma, i'm really not crazy about it...its kind of awkward (i know my mom won't like it) and its the only one he took. the one where we are all smiling is focused on the bush behind us.

DSC_4506.jpg

this is really the only one of me with the rolls. the others are shot strange or out of focus

DSC_4517.jpg

Then we got into the Rolls (my grandma, me, the FG and my mom) we only made it about 5 mins away when we got the flat tire....and pulled into an abandoned Chinese restaurant. the photographer was luckily right behind us and followed us in. Now this is where I started to panic. We were no where near the venue. So the driver called and they said it would be about 30 mins before a car could get to us. (by then DH would be on his way!) so the photographer offered to take me in his car. I really wanted my mom with me but.....we couldn't leave my grandma so I took the FG with me. Meanwhile some couple pulled in to the parking lot and offered for my mom and grandma to sit in their car (the rolls has no ac, which PS was never mentioned to me)

I arrived at the venue and my BMs met me and we went to take some pictures.

it was hard for me to choose one to post...because i really don't like any of them but I guess this is the best.
DSC_4534.jpg

any other one i like is blown out and can't be fixed

DSC_4566.jpg

I like this one, but I wish the long one came out as well.

Then I was ushered inside so DH could get photos with his "boys" and suppose to get ones of just him

The boys shots are my favorite of the photographs

Now this is the ONLY photo of DH alone. and its on this stupid bridge and there was no blocking the wind so the photos on this bridge are TERRIBLE :headache: so of course we needed to shoot DH on the bridge.

This is my favorite photo of all the photos taken

waiting for things to start.

so....no one announced anything like please be seated...and we didn't use traditional music...so people were standing and chatting when things got started.....I have major issues with the ceremony pictures. mainly because they are all shot with one of our backs to the camera and NONE shot far away showing everything and none of me walking down the aisle....and i dind't get my DH's face at the first look which was the top thing I wanted!!!:mad: but I am going to leave it at that so we can just talk about how nice the ceremony was.

Apparently my BMs ran down the aisle pretty much. I guess they were nervous

So the officiant had me stop and wait for DH to come and get me. so this is me waiting for him.

coming to get me

DSC_4648.jpg

Our officiant was really funny and threw in stuff we didn't know about...which would have annoyed me if i knew ahead of time..but on the day i just laughed (we laughed like whole ceremony....just silently)

DSC_4654.jpg

sand ceremony, the officiant supplied the stuff.....it would not have been what i would have chosen but i felt weird telling her no! hahah

we had this poem read

THE GOOD-MORROW.
by John Donne

I WONDER by my troth, what thou and I
Did, till we loved ? were we not wean'd till then ?
But suck'd on country pleasures, childishly ?
Or snorted we in the Seven Sleepers' den ?
'Twas so ; but this, all pleasures fancies be ;
If ever any beauty I did see,
Which I desired, and got, 'twas but a dream of thee.

And now good-morrow to our waking souls,
Which watch not one another out of fear ;
For love all love of other sights controls,
And makes one little room an everywhere.
Let sea-discoverers to new worlds have gone ;
Let maps to other, worlds on worlds have shown ;
Let us possess one world ; each hath one, and is one.

My face in thine eye, thine in mine appears,
And true plain hearts do in the faces rest ;
Where can we find two better hemispheres
Without sharp north, without declining west ?
Whatever dies, was not mix'd equally ;
If our two loves be one, or thou and I
Love so alike that none can slacken, none can die.

She also had the rings before the vows which i didn't like.....and even though we talked about it...she never changed it. oh well.
DSC_4664.jpg

DSC_4666.jpg

I think DH was nervous because i had a hard time getting his ring to fit! hahah

me and DH wrote our own vows and said them in unison.

Today, I marry you, my dearest friend

I will hold your hand through all of our many adventures

I will savor all of the laughs, the smiles and the loving moments
that we will share as we grow older, together

I will always be there for you, by your side, through all of life's
challenges

I will support you on every step of our journey together- as I
know you will support me

I will be your rock, your confidante, and your shoulder to cry on

I give myself to you, and promise to love you forever and always

DSC_4674.jpg

yay!

DSC_4686.jpg

petals didn't work the best....but they are funny.

even with all the problems. I have never felt as happy as I did during the ceremony....and neither of us could stop smiling (unless I was trying not to start crying! haha) It had its little problems but we just laughed and it was very us.

Lovely vows. You are right the boys photos are much better. I hope you get some new amazing photos with whichever photographer you pick.

Your vows are beautiful. Made me tear up just reading them so I can't imagine how you coped actually saying them!

Beautiful venue, beautiful vows, beautiful bride! :goodvibes And I *love* your gown.

I've been reading your TR and also wanted to say I'm so sorry your photos were a disappointment ... I hope the re-shoot gives you what you're looking for!

the "guys" pictures came out really nice. I see what you mean about the bridge picture, why not take a few somewhere else? You can tell how happy both of you are and the ceremony was lovely. I really like the pic of DF meeting you on the aisle, so sweet!

Despite what has happened with your photography, I think that you still got some beautiful photos that captured the beauty and romance of your wedding day. I too would be most upset about not getting the first look photos - I don't think that you can re-create that emotion - but I think that you still got some great shots. And you looked beautiful on your day!

thank you. We choose a photographer last night! I am hoping to meet up with him so everything can go right.

haha i don't get it but there are like 30 of me and my Bms on it and they are awful! you would think after like 3 you'd be like....this isn't working!!! my veil was about to fly off my hair. Thanks hun!
I love your dress!!
Thank you!

Thanks hun! yeah the photographer actually said to me....i got it....but you can tell by the order of the images that it was after i was already walking down! so....its not his first look. its like.....1 min into his first look :laughing: not the same thing. so of course when I said that DH made a face and was like I looked like this!
