Jennifer and Luke's PJ/TR NY/WDW HM 6/6/2010,Wedding photos up! 12/08

Your venue was just beautiful! :lovestruc It's a pity about the photos, because it looks like you could have spent forever there just getting hundreds of photos.

I looked at the website of the photographer who gave you the special offer, I think you should take him up on it, because he has some beautiful work!

thanks hun! Do you make an appointment? how does it work? or do i just show up and hope they can take me? Do all mac stores usually do it? Yeah I want to wait for the other two to answer me to see what they say but I am very excited about the first offer!!

I walked up to the counter one day, and asked if anyone was available for a trial. They'll do your makeup if they can right away, you just have to buy a couple things. They tell you how much you have to spend to do it. Then, if you like who did your makeup you can ask if you can just hire them to do it on the day you need it. I had my makeup done at the Mac counter for my rehearsal, but for the wedding day my makeup artist came to the salon where I got my hair done. Hope that helps! :goodvibes

Thanks hun! yeah I know it really was a beautiful place. I choose it specifically for all the places to take pictures...we had another place in mind but the area for pictures was so so tiny so i changed it. Oh well I guess our pictures weren't meant to be taken there.

I actually emailed him yesterday! We are meeting up this afternoon to go over details, show him what not to do  and the engagement photos and how we liked them. so hopefully it goes well. now we just have to choose locations! we have like 3 hours to go anywhere in the city.

thanks. well i would just use the trial for the actual makeup. but I can't be waiting there all day for them to do the trial so thats why I was wondering if they take appointments. I am also going to call my makeup artist from the wedding and ask her what she used just so i have an idea. Thanks for your advice!

Good morning ladies!

This question is for all of you who already had your weddings (or maybe those of you who have already figured it out) I need to bring my wedding dress back from NY to where I live. It is very large as you can tell and I am not okay with checking it.....what did you put your dresses in to take them as a carry on? You can't have a garment bag as a carry on can you? I am trying to figure out what to bring to NY so I can get it home. I was thinking a rolly suitcase but i'm not sure if it will fit? :confused3

I have a meeting with the photographer for the reshoot, we choose the one with the extra 1-2 hour shoot. so I'm excited. Hoping to get all the details worked out today.

PS. is it too early to stay a PTR for our 1 year?! haha *** I really want too but I think its too early...

I had the bridal salon do it but you can totally do this yourself. Find out the measurements of a carryon for the carrier you are flying. Get a box that size(just a brown shipping box) and put the dress inside the box in the garment bag. Close the box and then get one of those metal/wooden handles you can attach to the box to carry it. I was able to go right through secutiry and place it in the overhead compartment. I assume you will be having it steamed before the photoshoot? If so even if it gets a bit wrinkled, it should be fine once steamed. :thumbsup2 hope this helps.

Thanks hun! thats a great idea. I will look for a box or ask my mom to. I wasn't even thinking of a box. I didn't know you could do that as a carry on. I also wasn't thinking about the steaming! silly me. where can you go for steaming? obviously i used the bridal shop i bought it at last time. Will other shops steam it for me? or cleaners?

I am chock full of ideas-lol Yeah, I had no trouble at all. The airline even did not charge us for overage fee on our suitcase since we were flying for our wedding. It was easy to carry too. It was cool to see the dress through the security tv. I don't know any steaming out by you. If it was on the Island, I would know more places. When I am in doubt, I google it!

so in typical Jenn fashion....I am using the unfortunate picture disaster to do projects!!! Okay so....I'm crunching numbers and while the photography isn't bad...everything else is going to cost money. I have to get my nails redone....makeup....hair...flowers....transportation....seeing the dollar signs!?! okay soo...i'm going to try and scope out the mac makeup thing and see if i can guarantee a time and such. Hair....I am going to try and play with my hair and see how I can do it. I did my hair for my engagement photos and i think it looked pretty good. (if I don't say so myself ;) ) so now its flowers. so I really like DIY weddings. while mine was very diy there were a lot of traditional things. so this time i'm going to try and do a very indy themed shoot. I have my lacey umbrella which we never used at the wedding photography and I am contemplating making a bouquet. I am back and forth about doing a fabric one, because i think they are awesome, or just buying fresh flowers and building one. I was totally not going to have flowers but I think we need something. right now I am leaning toward the fabric ones. but I have to see how easy they are. This is the idea

obviously I would use our colors.

I also am thinking of making something like this.

so our only snag right now is....transportation. the photographer said taxis. :sad2: which I'm not okay with (expensive dress....) and I want to bring props so...lugging them around will be really hard. soooo i need to figure out something. I would rent a i-go car (its a car sharing) but I am the only one who can drive it....and well.....big dress....wheel you get the picture. I think town cars will be too expensive....I can't figure out if the photographer has a car...because he said taxis are better because you don't have to worry about parking....if he has a car I will deal with finding parking and pay for his gas!

so thats whats going on right now.

When you first said fabric flowers I thought you meant silk, but looking at those photos I see what you really mean by fabric! They are really beautiful and unique, plus you'll be able to keep them forever.

I absolutely love fabric bouquets and I think they would go really well with your style. I hope you make one, I cannot wait to see it :goodvibes

I considered doing silk....(and can if these don't work!) but unless they are done well they can really look fake....so I might as well not hide that they are fake! haha. Yeah thats what I liked the best about them. I pressed my flowers from my real bouquet but this will be something else I can keep forever.

thanks! I was going to go get fabric last night and start because I was excited but after meeting with the photographer I was very sleepy and just ended up going home and chilling
love the "flowers"
Thanks hun.

I'm sorry you have to do a "redo" but I have to admit...this is kind of fun! I love all of our ideas!!! Can't wait to see the end product!

haha well....i like projects....so this gets me a chance to do some...and wear my dress again! so i am going to turn it into a positive. i'm going to go to the fabric store tonight and experiment! I will post with how i'm doing.

I really love the fabric bouquets, I think they are so unique and will really fit your style. Can't wait to see how they turn out!

I hope you get the driving situation sorted out. I definitely wouldn't want to hop from taxi to taxi, could you rent a car for the day? Or could he rent the car and you reimburse him for it?

Thanks hun! I did a practice run on the flowers this weekend so i'll post pictures. the only think I can't figure out is what to do for stems..

I talked to him and he said he thinks he can rent a zip car which is like a time share car. (he actually has a car but doesn't want to use it?!? :confused3) I donno he didn't seem excited when I said I wanted that. oh well..

Good Morning.

Okay so I was expecting this next post to be longer but DH wanted to play a game when I was uploading so I didn't get as much as I wanted to. I spent most of yesterday after work editing photos...still have a little bit to go

after the ceremony me and DH went off to take photos alone.

You can start to see how bad the blowouts are on my dress after this. they were way worse before I edited them...but there is only so much you can do.

Now these were during cocktail hour and it was suppose to be just me and DH for the whole hour...however the photographer must have gotten bored with us and invited the wedding party in and spoiled my plans.

At this point the clouds were really rolling in and we were desperetly got as many pictures as we could

Then we headed inside to where our reception would be and took some photos there.

thats all DH would let me upload before bed last night. so i'll leave you with that. We have also been considering doing a sepia filter on all the photos because it takes out the bad coloring in the badly shot photos. we can't decide if we want all our photos like this or if we want two different albums?

Here is an example of what I mean

First up was the first dance. Luke was very nervous about this so ran around begging his friends to join us like 30 seconds into the song....but no one did! hahaha. We danced to Smashing Pumpkin's "Luna"

So a friend of ours got the best picture of us dancing so i'm posting that.

She also got this picture which I was so happy because I didn't think we had one!

Then it was time for the speeches. We didn't ask for them so I was very surprised when both our MOH and Best Man wrote one.

Here is a side note. I am trying to find some way we can go to the world for my birthday.....I am turning 25! and to be thats an important birthday.....and I have never celebrated my birthday at Disney....and me and DH loved it when we went for Christmas 3 years ago. so....I am really pushing for it.....so I will see. I am waiting for a quote from Dreams to see if its cheaper then what else we have found.
if we go it will be probably Nov 30-Dec 3 (my birthday is the 2nd)
We are probably looking at any value resort but I want Pop or Movie.

I already planned the day if we can figure out how to go.

-Rope drop for MK because I wanna see the show that i love so much
-Breakfast at CRT or CP
-MVMCP!!!!

so we will see if i can butter up DH to go. I would even go for like 2 days.....I just wanna be there

Everything you did looked beautiful jenn! Love the table #s. So adorable! Great first song pick-one of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins song. You and Luke look so happy! Gotta love shots!!! :rotfl:

I really love these pictures!!! It sucks that you had to do so much to them yourself but they look great to me right now! I do think the Sepia adds a nice effect to the photo. Oh and congrats on finding a new photog! I love the fabric bouquet...it would make a really cute keepsake too :goodvibes
