Jennifer’s Journey to lose 200 pounds (comments welcomed and appreciated)

I did my weigh in today. I’m down 3.4 pounds.:cheer2: :cheer2: I’m now at 315.6 pounds. I finally feel like all my hard work is paying off. I'm down a total of 23.6 pounds.

I missed the April weight loss challenge by .4 pounds. My goal was 8 pounds. Still a 7.6 pound loss is not bad. I can still make the Sunshine challenge.:cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks to everyone who reads my journal and especially to those who post. You guys really help me to keep going strong. :grouphug: Even on the days I feel like giving up.
 
You are FABULOUS!! That is so awesome, 3.4 lbs...Great job in meeting your goal (according to me anyway, but I like to round up :lmao: )

I tried the elliptical today. I did it for ten minutes. It did not work for me. It just does not feel right to me. But at least I can say I tried it.:) I hopped
on the treadmill for 35 minutes and felt at home. I'm glad it worked for you. Walking on an incline seems to help my knees. I have not had any problems with my hips.
 

Jennifer I think you did make goal because basically .4 is so little it could have been heavier clothes, a tiny bit of water or just not exhaling ;) ! I am really proud of you, 23 pounds is awesome. Pick up something that weighs that much and realize how heavy that is and how you carried that around 24/7 and don't have to anymore! Keep up all your good work (I know you will) and thanks so much for all your support in my journal! Its great to have so many great friends, that we can all help each other through the good, the bad and the ugly of weight loss!:hug:

Friday: Had a good food day. I had 1619 calories. Which included 23 grams of fiber. Drank about 90 ounces of water.

Saturday: My day off from food monitoring. I didn’t exercise because I was treating myself to a pedicure and clothes shopping.

Today: My husband and I were going to do a 5K today for the March of Dimes. When we showed up we realized it was actually a 7K. :confused: I was a little nervous because I have not actually walked more than 3 miles in who knows when. It's 4.3 miles so I thought not so much more than you do on the treadmill, right? You can do it. Well, I did it. It was my first ever race. It was so cool to get to the finish line. And not even be in last place. It was tough though. We did it in 90 :hourglass minutes. That's about a 20 minute mile or 3.0 on the treadmill. It was a lot harder than the treadmill without the incline because the streets were so hilly. My legs are finally sore. I’m happy I can finally feel the burn of hard work. :cheer2:

After the walk they had food. I had a hot dog and two small pieces of pizza. I really hope I didn’t cancel out the work out I did today. :sad2: I’m going to make a better choice at dinner.

Yeah Jennifer! That is wonderful that you did that! And to do so at that speed. And, with hills involved, the calories burned will never come back!

Congrats Jennifer.....that loss is great for this week. I agree with the others...I think you made your goal. Losing 23 pounds is great!!! You should be so proud of yourself, I am!!!!

Congrats on doing the March of Dimes walk also. That is great. It's gotta feel wonderful to finish and not in last place. Bt even if you did come in last, that is okay...it's just knowing that you finished is what matters!!!

Thank you so much. I love it when people say such nice things. It gives me so much motivation to do well. Almost like I’m not only doing it for myself, but for the people reading. We are all in this together. :grouphug:

Sunday: I did end up eating a healthily dinner. I just hope my pizza and hotdog don’t affect my weigh in.

Monday: I didn’t exercise today. I was a little sore form the 7K. I decided to take a rest day. I ate 1505 calories with 31 grams of fiber. I drank about 70 ounces of water.

Today: It’s the first day of May. Time to start a new exercise challenge. My goal for April was 1000 minutes. I ended up doing 1400. This month I’m going for 1600. I took a five minute walk and did 70 minutes on the treadmill. I burned 825 calories and climbed 845 feet. I walked 2.85 miles. I also did 40 minutes of weight training. For a total of 115 minutes of exercise.

Food was good today also. I ate 1680 calories with 26 grams of fiber. I drank 100 ounces of water.

Oh and four months from today I'll be in Disney World!! I'm so excited!!!:woohoo:

Did another 80 minutes of exercise today. I walked outside for ten minutes and did 70 minutes in the treadmill. I climbed 920 feet and walked 2.8 miles. I burned 854 calories. :thumbsup2

Today I ate 2065 calories with 32 grams of fiber. I drank 128 ounces of water, :cheer2: finally. My four day average calorie consumption is 1717.
 
Jennifer, that is so great you did the March of Dimes walk. Good for you!:thumbsup2 That must have really felt good. Your exercise on the treadmill paid off, no way could you have done that hilly distance before you got on board with your excellent habits! Keep up the good work, you are doing great and motivating the rest of us!:woohoo:
