Jennifer’s Journey to lose 200 pounds (comments welcomed and appreciated)

Thank you Amy. It gives me the warm, fuzzy feeling to hear that I'm helping to motivate others. :goodvibes The truth is you guys motivate me. I think WISH is a key ingredient I was missing before. You need other people to help you through the good and bad times of weight loss. Thank you all for being there and I'm there for you too! :grouphug:

Hi Jennifer,

I wanted to stop by and congratulate you on what a wonderful job you are doing!:cheer2: Keep up the good work and you will make your goals.:cool1:

Have a great day today!

Hello Jennifer!

You are really doing great on exercise. I agree that 'chatting' with other WISHers helps me too. Even though it is mostly about the same subject, it is a subject that we, as women in general, are obsessed about. Weight loss and healthy living. I really enjoy the kindered spirits I find here. The 'hugs' and encouragement are 'priceless'!

Off to finish catching up. Then dog walking! DD wants to watch an old video from when my son was young--Disneyland Sing-a-long at Disneyland. It is fun, and you get to see kids about my DD's age going on the rides and interacting with the character. I think I like it as much as she does!

Have a great week!

Wendy

:wave2: Thanks for stopping by Jamie, Wendy and Tracy.

I had a good workout today. I took a five minute walk outside. Followed by 70 minutes on the treadmill and 35 minutes of weight training. A grand total of 110 minutes of exercise. :cheer2:

Today on the treadmill I burned 843 calories and climbed 850 feet. I walked 3 miles.

Great job with the workout!!! Keep it up!!

You're doing a great job!

Have a great day :)

Thanks Jamie and Bekki :)

I'm so sore today. I really worked out hard with the weights yesterday. I'm going to take a rest day today. But considering it's only May 4th and I've already done 5 hours of exercise it'll be ok. :thumbsup2

Hello Jennifer!

I remember the first time I put the treadmill at 3 for an incline rather than the usual 1. Boy, I sure felt it and was really sore. I work in fast food, so I was able to keep moving, which really helped the soreness some. I have said, the TM gives a better work out, although my outside walks give a longer time. Does your tm tell you your calories burned? I love that about ours. Does yours have a heart rate monitor? I like that too. It is nice to see the good effectives exercising is doing.

Have a great weekend and keep up the great work outs! You are keeping the rest of us on our toes to keep up with you!

Wendy

It's not the incline that's making me sore it's the weights. I usually have the incline at 8 going all the way up to 11.5. It's has not make me sore yet. :thumbsup2

I always use a heart monitor when I walk to ensure I am walking at my target heart rate. The treadmills have them. You can also borrow one that you wear. I switch off between the two.

I am usually burning in the 800 calorie range now that I started using the incline. It's about double what I used to burn without it.

Wow Jennifer, that is a lot of exercise this early in the month! Good for you! I hope your sore muscles are feeling better and that you have a great weekend. You are doing great!:cool1:

Thanks Amy.

Friday: Had an ok food day today. I ate 1435 calories with 22 grams of fiber. I only drank 64 ounces of water.

Today: I really meant to exercise today, but after my dentist appointment I was in no mood. It's ok because I have something big planned for tomorrow.......stay tuned for more details coming tommorrow in Jennifer's Journal.

I weighed in today and was down .4 pounds. A little disheartening, but I know if I keep it up the weight will come off. I've decided to weigh in once every two weeks. I think it may help even things out. I'm now down down 24 pounds. :yay:

That is really great! Where do you wear your weights? I heard that you should wear around your shoulders rather than carry them. I am interested. I have to wear orthotics, and I can get off balance really easily. So, carrying them is very hard. I do keep my hands up and elbows bent to help me go faster. Anyother advice?

Thanks Jennifer!

Wendy, I don't wear weights while I'm walking. I started a weight training program with a personal trainer 3 weeks ago. Last week I increased the weight and number of sets. I was sore for a couple of days from that. For some reason I can walk with an incline with no soreness. :thumbsup2

Today I didn't make the best choices food wise. I didn't eat a lot; I just didn't eat very healthily.

I did however do another walk for the March of Dimes. This walk was 4 miles long. I finished in 70 minutes. That's a 17:30 per mile. That's the fastest I have walked since high school. :cheer2: I really pushed myself today. It was chilly when we were walking and I couldn't understand how I could be sweating when I was cold. This was a beautiful walk. For two miles we walked besides a Lake Michigan beach. The waves were rolling in. It was really cool.

I love the feeling I get when I finish. I think I may be becoming a race junkie :rotfl:

You are so amazing and awesome! That is a fantastic walk, and what a great cause to walk so fast for :lmao:

Hey, you have plenty of time before the Disney 1/2 in January. It's not that much faster :) And you'll have plenty of company!

Hi Jennifer,

Wow...you are really doing a great job!! Way to go on the workouts.

That is awesome that you did another March of Dimes walks. Have you considered the 1/2 marathon like bekkiz mentioned? I think that would be great!

Keep up the great work....congrats on the loss. It's a loss and that is all that matters!!

Have a great day :)

I’m not sure I could be ready in time. Maybe in 2009? I would love to do the 5K in the Animal Kingdom. That sounds so cool.

I had a great day today. Food was 1581 calories with 37 grams of fiber. I drank 108 ounces of water. I decided I would not weigh myself until May 26th. I will keep an average of calories eaten from now till then. Expect for Saturdays because I don’t enter those in. My average so far is 1581.

Exercise was also great. I took a 10 minute walk outside. Followed by 75 minutes the treadmill with the incline at 7.5 for 60 minutes. I burned 1000 calories and climbed 1150 feet. I walked 3.20 miles. I also did 35 minutes of weight training.

Yippie for great days! You are doing so amazing w/ your exercise, I bet you could make it by January, but 2009 is a good year too :)

Hope today is great again!
