Jellyrolls Closing in 2025

I hope that Disney doesn’t try to make the Boardwalk a big draw, unless they implement a charge for parking there that’s waived for resort guests, comped for ADRs, etc. It’s just too tempting to park there to visit Epcot! I’d much rather see them put a casual TS restaurant and/or QS there, which are badly needed for Boardwalk Inn & Villas resort guests.

I've never been that impressed with the Boardwalk through its various incarnations. If I was already staying in the area, I'd stop by for a visit, but if I wasn't staying along Crescent Lake, it was never "worth a detour" in the words of the Michelin Guide.

Big River always had a very meh reputation, so I never made it there. Jellyrolls was fun, but it (along with ESPN Club) was the kind of thing I can do other places, so they were rarely things I took time out of my trip to do. Contrast that with, say, the Adventurer's Club, which I would make a point of hitting up for an adult-only trip. I never once went into Atlantic Dance. I take it that I am far from alone there, given the reports that it is typically a ghost town.

I'm not sure what would make Boardwalk an anchor. I think CBS is one example that might serve this role. I'm not in the target market, but for those who are, it might well be one of the splurges you plan your trip around. A couple more things like that might revitalize the area enough to generate foot traffic for the buskers, etc.
I'm also not sure practically how much of a draw they really can make the Boardwalk given numerous potential parking issues they'd be facing....

That said, I do think they need to fill both of those spaces... it is embarrassing having so much empty space....

It could be that Jellyrolls is instigating the move, not Disney. That’s what happens when third party vendors lease space.
Available information suggests Disney is responsible.

Scott says Disney; including DS and Swandolph are out.
Citywalk has Pat O'Briens. Sunset Walk has a bar with a piano. I don't know if Jellyrolls has different enough for Sunset.

Icon Park may be the best option.

Icon already has howl at the moon right up the block.

With Epic opening, somewhere along I-Drive with easy access could be a more lucrative spot than the BW. They could attract I-Drive and Convention Center guests as well as EU guests who don’t want to go as far as CW. It’s difficult to know just how EU will affect that area until it opens.

But not in Icon.
Universal may not want to rent to a bar which is a close competitor to a bar they own, Pat O'Briens.

Icon might rent to Jelly. Jelly has to decide if they can compete.

I've been surprised that they don't build a parking garage for Boardwalk across the street - the lot that used to be available for guests but now is blocked for staff only. They could build a garage similar in style to those at Disney Springs. It is a missed opportunity that they do not have any place for people to park to visit the Boardwalk if not a hotel guest or ADR holder.

I guess they are afraid that it will fill up with cars trying to go to Epcot or Studios from there, but they could make it with a charge for parking like at the four parks, that is covered if you have an AP or can be validated if you eat or spend money at the Boardwalk.

I like that idea. Parking at BW when staying at BWV isn’t quite as bad as it used to be, now that what used to be the valet-only lot is accessible by resort guests, but it’s still not enough to handle a busy BW entertainment and dining destination.
